Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Lockdown 2011

8-Man X Division Xscape Match
Jay Lethal vs. Chris Sabin vs. Suicide vs. Max Buck vs. Jeremy Buck vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Robbie E vs. Amazing Red - **
To not have Lethal or Sabin be involved in the final portion at all is a joke. What made it worse was that there were no memorable spots like I know everyone was hoping for. Finish was very very flat as well.

4-Way Tag Team Match
Scott Steiner & Crimson vs. Ink Inc. vs. Orlando Jordan & Eric Young vs. The British Invasion - *3/4
Another flat finish. Shannon Moore was just really really weird throughout the match.

TNA Knockouts Championship
Madison rayne(c) vs. Mickie James - 1/2*
What a letdown...

Samoa Joe vs. The Pope - **1/2
A good match, but nothing we haven't seen these two do before. Every match to this point has really just felt like a match that's been wrestled in a cage. Saying the cage has not been put to use at all really.

Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez - *
Every ppv match these two have had has been far below average. This one may have been the worst. Finish was pretty cool though.

Ultra Man Rules 2/3 Falls
Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett - ***3/4
The 3rd fall was obviously the selling point here. The fact that Angle put his his own body and basically his career at risk so many times in this match is remarkable and makes this worth watching on its own. The botched hurracanrana/power bomb spot off the top rope made 5 guys cringe like bitches, including myself, but then you see the replay and it doesn't look as bad. haha. It was a bit overbooked in the end but you knew that was gonna happen. The only real compaint I have is the several identical things you saw from the Angle/Anderson match from the last year. The moonsault, the key thing, being able to win but coming back in, etc. Still it's a great match on Angle's part alone that's definitely worth a watch, albeit not as good as his match with Anderson. Didn't quite tell the story that one did. OH! And did anyone read that thing on twitter on how Angle's tired of WWE guys using his moves? Angle actually busted out an RKO with the whole beating on the mat thing and all. It was awesome.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Sting(c) vs. Mr. Anderson vs. RVD - **1/4
Hey Russo, fuck you. Hogan, you too. So sick of the pointless interference. Can you just give me a clean finish please?

Lethal Lockdown
Fortune (Christopher Daniels, Kazarian, & Beer Money) vs. Immortal (Ric Flair, Abyss, Matt Hardy, & Bully Ray) - ***1/4
This was pretty good, no real complaints on it. AJ's return was fairly predictable but it was nice to see. Daniels' dive and Flair's bloodied body were both sights to see.

Overall: 6/10
I gotta say, this was a pretty major letdown. Two matches cross the *** mark and the rest was honestly pretty shitty. I'm considering just giving up on TNA ppv...

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I just finished re-watching Bound For Glory 2006,.

X Division Gauntlet Match - ***
A good show opener. Great, fast paced, spot filled action. It's always cool to see Austin Aries out side of the indies.

4-Tag Team Match - **
A decent match, didn't do anything special for me though.

Monsters Ball - ***1/4
A good hardcore style match. This was back when Samoa Joe was still one of the best performers in the world.

Larry Zbysko vs Eric Young - 1/4*
DUD.

Senshi vs Chris Sabin - ***3/4
A great X Division match. Fast passed action, with great spots and a few, good near falls.

Rhino vs Christian Cage - ***1/2
The better of the 2 hardcore matches on the card. I was very entertained and impressed by both men and I'm usually not a Rhino fan.

Styles & Daniels vs LAX - ****1/2
MOTN. Great performances by all 4 men, but I wouldn't expect any less from these 4, tbh.

Jeff Jarrett vs Sting - ***1/2
A good culmination, to a great feud. Good, entertaining action in the match. The match goes down a bit in my eyes though, just because it was given away 2 months in advance.

OVERALL PPV- ****
Excellent PPV. There was only 1 match on the card I didn't find entertaining, leaving me feeling very satisfied after the show.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

No Surrender 2009

Knockouts Tag Team Championship
Taylor Wilde & Sarita vs. Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky - **
Good idea to just have Taylor & Sarita get all the offense in.

Eric Young vs. Hernandez - NR
Not much of a match, just Eric getting the piss beat out of him while he's in a suit.

X Division Championship
Samoa Joe(c) vs. Daniels - ***
Good match but nowhere near the level of their series in '06. Daniels didn't sell the leg either.

Falls Count Anywhere
Suicide vs. The Pope - ***
Really fun match. Could've been something great if Suicide had kicked out at the end and they went on to do another table spot.

Knockouts Championship
ODB vs. Cody Deaner - **1/4
Very surprised by how entertaining this was. I liked the nearfalls as well.

TNA Legends Championship
Kevin Nash(c) vs. Abyss - *1/4

Lethal Lockdown
Beer Money & Team 3D vs. Scott Steiner, Booker T, & The British Invasion - **3/4
It was definitely cool to see one of these matches not on a Lockdown ppv, but there just wasn't a whole lot to this one besides the suplex on top of the cage. Still fun though.

Rhino vs. Bobby Lashley - 3/4*
Lashley was never exactly a ring general in his WWE days but it's odd that his run in TNA was so much worse than anything he did up North.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Kurt Angle(c) vs. Sting vs. AJ Styles vs. Matt Morgan - **1/2
I'm not counting Hernandez because that entire thing with him made no sense and meant nothing towards the match. The problem I had with this is that it was all over the place, No structure, no tags. Just go wild and pin whoever you can. The finish felt pretty anticlimatic, but giving AJ the belt was literally the best thing TNA has done in years.

Overall: 6.75/10
Pretty decent show. No real standout matches but a few solid ones. I'd say the top three reasons to see this show is for Earl Hebner looking like Hitler, Hernandez being a beast, and to see the start of the best title run in TNA history.

In all honesty, I think BFG07 is the best PPV TNA has ever produced. Excellent show.
