Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

It took me like a week but I read/skimmed this entire thread for advice. Thanks a lot. Since I started watching TNA on January 4th of this year, I only got compilations. I'll go back and get PPVs later. I got:

Unstoppable: The Best of Samoa Joe
Best Of The Bloodiest Brawls Vol. 1
Best of the X Division DVD Vol 1
Best of AJ Styles Vol 1
TNA: Ultimate Matches
Kurt Angle: Champion

For $47 shipped. Can't wait to see all of this.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Any one else noticing that Best Buy isn't carrying any dvds anymore? They have no more tna dvds at 6 different stores near me. Kinda odd, I used to pick up shows from there all the time, now they dont have any anymore.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Bound for Glory 2006 dvd review

22 october 2006, TNA biggest ppv of the year from the motor city Detroit Michigan.

The show started with some real nice pyro, for TNA standard that is.

Opening match: Kevin Nash Open Invitational X Division Gauntlet Battle Royal
Some nice spots, but some of the entrants didn't make any sense. Wasn't really into this match **1/4

4 corner tag match, Team 3D vs. The Naturals Vs. The James Gang vs. AMW
Nothing to spectacular here, there was a nice Tower of Doom. ** 1/2

Monsters Ball, Brother Runt vs. Raven Vs. Abyss Vs Samoa Joe
Here the awesomeness begins (except young/zbyszko). 2 Table spots in the beginning on Samoa Joe. Abyss and Runt did a nice spot, were Runt took a bump from the top of the stage. Samoa Joe did a sweet Senton on Abyss, who went face first in thumbtacks which looked awesome. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts was the referee and at the end the snake came out to play. Not as good as the MB the year before but still a very good match. *** 3/4

Larry Zbyszko Vs. Eric Young
This was more an Impact segment then a match. Was stupid and boring. DUD

X Division championship, Senshi Vs. Chris Sabin
Really really good match here. Some hard hitting kicks and nice spots. This defiantly made up for the disappointing No Surrender match the month before. ****

8 Mile Street Fight, Christian Cage Vs. Rhino
This was a nice match, only problem was the camera work one of the biggest problems of the older TNA. Really sweet Rhinodriver from the apron through a table. Ending spot was fun to.
*** 1/2

Tag Team title, six sides of steel match, LAX Vs. Aj Styles
Was really having high expectations for this match, watched the Ultimate X the day before and thought that was really awesome. Some really nice high paced action here, nice crossbody of the top of the cage by AJ. Fork comes in to play and is used by Homicide. Ending looked sick as Homicide hits the Gringo Killer on AJ and it looked like AJ broke his neck. Wasn't as good as the No Surrender match but still great. ****1/4

NWA world title match, Sting Vs. Jeff Jarret
Really old school match up. Angle was special guest enforcer, and he took out the ref because it was going to be a double countout. Match itself was nothing spectacular but I thought the ending was great, as JJ hit Sting with the guitar only for Sting to go absolutely nuts and hitting the Scorpion Deathdrop to win the title.
***1/4 (****1/2 for ending though)

Overall really nice show. 2006 was really a great ppv year for TNA

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

What are some people's picks for the best World Title matches in TNA?
- AJ Styles/Low Ki (August 2003 Weekly PPV)
- AJ Styles/Raven (August 2003 Weekly PPV)
- Samoa Joe/Christian (Destination X 07)
- King of the Mountain (Slammiversary 07)
- AJ/Daniels/Joe (Turning Point 2009) (my pick for the best)
- AJ/Daniels (Final Resolution 2009) (My second favorite)

Those were some that I had thought of just off-hand.

- Jeff Jarrett (c) Vs. Sting: Bound for Glory 06 (Good old school kind of match with a great ending)

- Christian Cage (c) Vs. Samoa Joe: Destination X 07 (AWESOME MATCH!!! Probably my number one favorite)

- Kurt Angle Vs. Christian Cage Vs. AJ Styles Vs. Samoa Joe Vs. Chris Harris: King of the Mountain at Slammiversary 07 (Best KOTM to date, and I don't see it getting topped)

- Kurt Angle (c) Vs. Christian Cage: Final Resolution 08 (Great work from both men here)

- Kurt Angle (c) Vs. Christian Cage: Against All Odds 08 (ditto)

- Kurt Angle (c) Vs. Samoa Joe: Lockdown 08 (Very different type of match and presented extremely well. Had an awesome ending too with Joe winning the title)

- Samoa Joe (c) Vs. Sting: Bound for Glory 08 (Wild match up with Sting getting the beating of his career)

- Sting (c) Vs. AJ Styles: Turning Point 08 (Always wanted to see this match & I enjoyed it the first time around for sure)

- Mick Foley (c) Vs. AJ Styles Vs. Samoa Joe Vs. Jeff Jarrett Vs. Kurt Angle: King of the Mountain at Slammiversary 09 (Another really fun KOTM match)

- AJ Styles (c) Vs. Sting: Bound for Glory 09 (Very classy way to end the PPV and a pleasant match to watch. Wish this had been Sting's last match)

- AJ Styles (c) Vs. Samoa Joe Vs. Christopher Daniels: Turning Point 09 (Awesome three way between three men that can get it done)

- AJ Styles (c) Vs. Christopher Daniels: Final Resolution 09 (Great singles match. Hard to imagine that this is actually one of their weaker matches together.

- AJ Styles (c) Vs. Kurt Angle: Jan 4th Impact (One of the best TV matches TNA has ever put on)

- Rob Van Dam (c) Vs. Abyss: Stairway to Janice on the Whole F'n Show (Very fun hardcore war)

- Kurt Angle Vs. Jeff Hardy Vs. Mr. Anderson: Bound for Glory 2010 (Almost left it off because of the wacky finish, but I felt like the work in this match was very good before that)

AJ Styles (c) Vs. Samoa Joe Vs. Christopher Daniels: Turning Point 09 ****1/2
- This is probably the best world title match TNA has produced. These 3 can do no wrong. Not quite on the same level as there unbreakable match but still fantastic.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

TNA Final Resolution 2010

Beer Money/Ink Inc.-***
Mickie/Tara-**1/2
Robbie/Lethal-**1/2 (Finish took away, this would've been atleast ***)
Rhino/RVD-***1/4
AJ/Doug-**** (Wow did I love this, excellent match. Maybe even a little higher)
Guns/Gen Me-***3/4 (Some stuff fell flat but it was still an incredibly innovative and exciting match)
Pope/Abyss-**
Joe/Jarrett-*3/4
Hardy/Morgan-**1/2

The main events were all story driven which took away from the show somewhat but the undercard was great. They need to switch up the feuds though, Hardy and Morgan will never be able to put together anything more than decent and Pope and Abyss just don't have a good dynamic. Joe and Jarrett can have good matches but they're not being given the chance to showcase that.

Do I really have to say anything?
