Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Thanks. I picked it up in a charity shop for £2 just on a whim cause it was there and cheap. Never watched a TNA DVD in full before and was going to stick it in. I might just watch Abyss/Tomko and the KOTM.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I bought Slammiversary '07 last year when Virgin Megastore was going out of business, and I couldn't have been happier.

The buildup was a mess, and the card was cluttered, but I used to watch my dl off this all the time, and saw it for the right price. This is a very entertaining show.

-Rhino/Senshi vs. Lax is a hot tag match, even though Rhino and Senshi have no chemistry whatsoever.
-Sabin/Lethal is a solid x division match.
-Roode/Young was good, and the false ending actually created an added sense of tension.
-Team 3D vs. Rick Steiner and Animal is just fun to see 75% of a dream match, which is Dudleys/LOD. Shouldn't have been for the tag titles, but a fun match anyway.
-Abyss/Tomko is a fantastic garbage match. No story, no sense, no emotion, just throw everything to the wall brawling, weapons, and insanity. Fun match
-KOTM is not only the best KOTM ever, but it was definitely one of my favorite matches of 2007. While I agree with most people that Chris Harris spearing Christian (thus leaving Angle wide open) made ZERO sense, it wasn't enough to hamper a very athletic, entertaining ladder match.

And yeah, that Storm/Harris extra match is amazing, but I was always pissed off that even though it was a regular match, neither man was disqualified, but when they were out of the ring for 10 seconds, they both got counted out. That made no, no, no, sense at all.

Favorite Matches of All Time

1. Triple-Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit - WrestleMania XX

2. Career Threatening Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair - WrestleMania XXIV

3. WWE Championship: John Cena vs. CM Punk - Money in the Bank 2011

4. No Holds Barred Match: The Undertaker vs. Triple H - WrestleMania XXVII

5. WWF Championship: Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior - WrestleMania VI

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Wow Virgin only closed in the USA last year? We've been without Virgin I think nearly 4 years now :/

Cheers for the synopsis.

Best Of 5 Series

Ladder-***3/4-****
Street Fight-***1/2
Cage-****
UX-Didnt see
2/3 Falls-****1/4

Throw in the VR and TP08 matches which both over **** as well and these 2 teams have perhaps the best series of tag team matches in TNA history.

Do I really have to say anything?

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I'm not usually one for watching TNA these days, but given the hype behind Beer Money/MCMG, I decided to watch their latest matches:

VR - *1/2
Ladder - **
Street Fight - **1/2
Cage - 3/4*
Ultimate X - *
2/3 Falls - *1/2

Boy was I disappointed, and I went into them all with low expectations anyway since I usually like TNA matches way less than regular TNA fans .

To each his own, but those are ratings are shocking. Even people who aren't really TNA fans have been raving about the series, really it's been the best thing for tag team wrestling in the mainstream in years.

Nope, but I wish I was. Those were some baaad tag matches. I wish they just went with the good old Southern Tag Formula rather than the random moves for the hell of it formula. Could have been an awesome series.
