Bound For Glory IV

Steel Asylum Match
Chris Sabin vs. Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey Williams vs. Johnny Devine vs. Super Eric vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Shark Boy vs. Curry Man - ***3/4 (I don't think I've ever seen anyone rate it this high, but damn I was a big fan of this. Normally I hate the Asylum matches because you can hardly see anything and there's so mnay guys in the ring, but this one was pulled off pretty flawlessly with a great finish. Tore the house down to start the show)

6-Person Intergender Bimbo Brawl
Cute Kup, Angeline Love, & Velvet Sky vs. Rhino, ODB, & Rhaka Khan - *1/2 (Nothing special as expected. Did what it needed to do, and that was keep the crowd entertained)

X Division Championship
Sheik Abdul Bashir(c) vs. Consequences Creed - **1/4 (Creed had the place rockin, but of course Bashir brought everyone down. Awful title run he had)

Knockouts Championship
Taylor Wilde(c) vs. Awesome Kong vs. Roxxi - ** (Not a bad match by any means, they just never really brought out the big guns or kicked it into high gear. Kinda flat finish too)

TNA World Tag Team Championship - Monster's Ball
Beer Money Inc.(c) vs. Team 3D vs. LAX vs. Matt Morgan & Abyss - ***3/4 (Just a brutal, bloody, hell of a lot fun, crazy ass match. Mongo McMichael as the ref was pretty poopy, but you can look past that. Awesome stuff)

AJ Styles vs. Christian Cage vs. Booker T - *** (AJ really saved my interest in this one. Pretty good match but Booker hurt it a lot. His slowness and botches hurt a lot of the spots as they came off kinda awkward. Still not too bad though)

Special Enforcer - Mick Foley
Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett - ***3/4 (Not a whole lot to say. Excellent match with an emotional backstory and ending most probably saw coming)

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
Samoa Joe(c) vs. Sting - ***1/2 (A great first three quarters of the match, with them fighing all through the crowd. But the last couple minutes were definitely a wtf moment. Pretty weak ending, but many people in the crowd seemed to enjoy it)

Overall: 8/10

A very good PPV outing, but as many from TNA go, still could've been a lot better. I like how each match was given proper time and it wasn't a 10 match card with more shit like bigger shows normally have.

Anyone ratings for the MCMG/Beer Money matches? I read they're having great series of matches. I haven't seen Impact in months, but I might check this out.

Have to see the Street Fight but from other people's ratings it doesn't look too bad. Could be doing with a re-watch of their whole feud to be honest, I wasn't paying 100% undivided attention to the matches. I'll get around to it some day.

Also, Don't think anybody's mentioned this. For you European fans, on TNA EuroStore, their entire selection of DVD's are 5 EACH.

Kurt Angle vs. Hernandez-iMPACT! July 22nd

Spoiler for Match Story:
This is quite a stark contrast in styles but Angle always seems to be able to adjust well to working with "big men". Angle keeps Hernandez at bay at the beginning but he didn't see a slingshot shoulder coming from Super Mex. After hitting a Crackerjack, Hernandez took too long to follow up which gave Angle time to mount a comeback.

Angle hits lots of his signture moves like Belly To Bellys and Germans but he couldn't nail an Angle Slam. Hernandez caught him out and hit a Facebuster out of nowhere. Super Mex took too long setting up the Border Toss letting Angle slip out and then he hit the Angle Slam. That wasn't going to put Super Mex away though.

Angle risked it all with a Moonsault and got nothing but canvas. Hernandez thought holding a suplex for ages would help him but Angle slid out and locked on the Ankle Lock which leads to the win.

**
This match seemed a little too formulatic for me. Angle was doing his usual stuff fine but Hernandez who isn't a very good singles guy seemed to have trouble keeping up. They didn't have a whole lot of time to do anything special anyway, 6 minutes. I can't see what more these two could have done with eachother as they don't have the best chemistry and came off more like an average TV match when it should have felt important since it's part of a major storyline.

Next up: A.J Styles

What are people's thought on the Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe match that went to a Draw?

Does anyone know when TNA starting running their DVDs in widescreen format? I popped in the Cross The Line Triple Threat set earlier and was blown away by the overall improvement in picture quality as well as the aspect ratio. Makes me enjoy the show that much more

Turning Point '09

X Division Championship
Amazing Red(c) vs. Homicide - ***1/4 (Great way to start the show. Nice match with some good fast paced action. They meshed together pretty well I'd say)

Knockouts Championship & Knockouts Tag Team Championship
ODB(c), Taylor Wilde(c) & Sarita(c) vs. The Beautiful People - ** (This actually wasn't too bad. You saw some actual wrestling from Velvet, which is rare. Pretty watchable)

TNA World Tag Team Championship
The British Invasion(c) vs. Beer Money Inc. vs. The Motor City Machine Guns - **3/4 - (Match was going along pretty well with your usual goodness from Motor City and Beer Money, but the Nash interference and the weak ending overshadows it)

Six Sides Of Steel
Tara vs. Awesome Kong - **3/4 (Solid performance from both women. You could tell Tara was a bit out of her element but she did a good job. Could've been longer but a nice little cage match)

Team 3D & Rhino vs. Matt Morgan, Hernandez, & "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero - **3/4 (Another solid match but I felt like this should've been on iMPACT. The story with Pope trying to gain Morgan & Hernandez's trust then the finish gave me that feeling, maybe it's just me)

No DQ, Falls Count Anywhere
Bobby Lashley vs. Scott Steiner - *3/4 (You'd think these big ass guys would know how to swing a weapon with a little more force... They tried but it was still pretty awful)

Kurt Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe - ****1/4 (Just an excellent match all around. Great wrestling, great storytelling, great selling. The story of Wolfe scouting Angle his whole career and then tapping so quickly to a move he hadn't seen from him before was brilliant)

TNA World Heavyweight Championship
AJ Styles(c) vs. Samoa Joe vs. Daniels - ****1/2 (There's not a whole lot you can say about this. You know it's gonna be great, probably the best match TNA gives you all year, and it was. Daniels doing his homework and scouting both guys signature moves throughout the match was done very well too. After 4 times of these guys going at it, I'm still puzzled at how they still come up with new spots)

Overall: 8.25/10

Being at the show, I thought it was ok. Really enjoyed Doug/Kazarian, which is a match that has gone very under-appreciated this year IMO. AJ/RVD was really disappointing but still solid. The opener was good. Everything else though....eh. Terry/OJ was better than I expected but still sucked. Tara/Rayne was a very flat "last match" for Tara. Not terrible but not good. Moore & Neal/Band sucked. Abyss/Nigel sucked for the fact that Nigel had to bump for that oaf. Hardy/Anderson was good but I felt the crowd hurt it. Sting/Jarrett was a waste of time.

I'd say 6/10 for the show
