Speaking of TNA Collections, I'm yet to get the weekly PPV's but I'm working on it. Can't decide whether to get an avi set of them all or just a proper dvd set. As for monthly PPV's, I have them all bar Turning Point 2007, Sacrifice 2008 and Slammiversary 2008. I also have most of the iMPACT's from 2009 and every one from 2010.
If you want them as proper DVDs give me a shout I'll do you a good price

As far as the DVD-R thing, yea, the original 3 DVDs (Best of ___ Matches) were DVD-Rs. The Ultimate X and AMW ones I think were standard DVDs though. I know my Ultimate X one isn't a DVD-R and it's not a re-release. The fact that I got my AMW set in the same case as the original 2-disc sets came in 2003 is what makes me think these aren't re-releases as much as them getting rid of what they had left over now that they know they can make a profit on them.
I probably wasn't collecting them back then I only seriously started collecting TNA when I got a great deal on a load which basically left me missing 5 or 6 so I've been filling in the gaps.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Just got done watching Slammiversary '05. All in all, very good show. Everything that you'd expect to deliver did just that - the KOTM, Shelley/Shocker, Daniels/Sabin/Bentley.

One match that needs more love is Robert Roode vs. Lance Hoyt - very, very good match. The interference from D'Amore is annoying, but Roode showed even 5 years ago that he conducts himself in the ring like an accomplished main-eventer. No words can describe that man - he's just the most well-rounded guy in the business.

No Surrender '08 isn't bad, it's just...there. It's not great, or good, or weak, or bad, it's just consistently okay. Styles/Trigg, though, was awful.

I gotta agree about Roode. I dont know if he will ever be "the guy", but he is a solid in ring worker. Its like hes been in the business for 25 years. You can tell he actually studies the game.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Just finished Victory Road 08 and must say I liked the show a little better than the first time.

Victory Road 08

12 Man Elimination Tag X Cup Match
Shelley,Sabin,Curry Man vs Yoshino,A&T,Puma vs Koslov,Williams,Dux vs Averno,Guerrero,Bucanero-****1/4

Gail Kim vs Angelina Love-**1/4

Jay Lethal vs Sonjay Dutt-***

TNA Tag Team Title Fans Revenge Match
Beer Money vs LAX-***1/4

TNA Knockout Title Match
Taylor Wilde vs Awesome Kong-**1/4

Ultimate X Match-TNA World X Cup Final
Doi vs Kaz vs Davari vs Valodar Jr-***1/2

Full Metal Mayhem Match
Christian Cage,Rhino,& AJ Styles vs Team 3D & Kurt Angle-****

TNA World Title Match
Booker T vs Samoa Joe-***

The Opening Tag almost got a higher rating than when I first saw it was just action packed and then Yoshino almost overcoming the odds was excititng as well. The 2 KO matches werent put me to sleep boring but not out of this world either.I think the fans in the Tag Title Match kind of brought it down as that was all the happened at the start of the match and it kind of drug down at the end.Dutt vs Lethal was alright but would have been better without all the Val focus and bad ending.Ultimate X was good but farther down on the scale of Ultimate X and a big dissapointment really it wasnt all that good until the end with the now famous Kaz spot.Full Metal Mayhem was an all out war and AJ played a great face in peril this had good story telling along with some awesome spots but the Opening X Tag still edges it out.Main Event was hard to rate bc it was alright and physical but the overbooked ending kind of brings it down I mean I love Joe snapping but their was just to much going on.I really enjoyed TNA during this time period as they were putting on some good matches and the storylines weren't as all over the place as today. And gonna knockout Hard Justice 2008 tommorrow after work have a week of vacation so gonna chill after I get off tommorrow.Really remember enjoying Hard Justice alot and nothing bad was on it and the Last Man Standing was outstanding.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Slammiversary 2010

Kurt Angle vs. Kazarian - ***1/2 - ***3/4
Douglas Williams vs. Brian Kendrick - ***1/2
Roxxi vs. Maddison Rayne - **
Jesse Neal vs. Brother Ray - *1/2
Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan - *
Desmonde Wolfe vs. Abyss - **
AJ Styles vs. Jay Lethal - **3/4
Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson vs. Beer Money - ***
Sting Vs. Rob Van Dam - *3/4

Overall - By far not the greatest ppv ever put on by TNA by a long way. A couple of good near the brink of very good matches here and another couple of decent matches but to be honest in my opinion there was nothing here to go out of the way to see.

5.75/10

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I have no idea exactly how many DVDs are in the collection, but I know for sure that I have all of the monthly PPVs from the first 2-3 years, most of the original DVDs that were released during the weekly PPV era, Global Impact, and various other discs. Quite a few of them are still unopened even. I've been planning to part with the collection for quite a while but just haven't gotten around to it. If anyone is actually interested in them, let me know and I'll go through and see exactly what titles I own. There are a number of ROH DVDs in there too for whatever that's worth.
