Genesis 2006 Review
1. 2 on 3 Handicap Match: VKM vs. Seretonin
Nothing special. A decent opener that only goes 3 minutes. VKM continues the angle against DX or WWE or whatever they were doing...
*3/4
2. The Naturals vs. Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal
A pretty good tag match. Dutt and Lethal looked impressive and had some nice double teams. The ending was sort of botched so the rating could've been higher.
**1/2
3. X Division Title Match - Christopher Daniels(c) vs. Chris Sabin
Outstanding match. They went back and forths the whole way with some close near falls. Sabin is so damn good it's not even funny...
***1/2
4. Austin Starr & Alex Shelley vs. Ron Killings & Lance Hoyt
Surprisingly this was a really good tag match. But before I get into that, let me say that if you didn't already know, Kevin Nash is one funny bastard. He makes a comment on how he injured his arm before the match that is just hilarious.

But anyway, these guys flowed pretty well with each other and Lance sold the leg, which is something a lot of guys ignore...

5. Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles
Wow. Excellent matchup here. This was the first time meeting between the two and it did not disappoint. These two have great chemistry together and there were some nice spots here. Easily a 4-star match with a clean finish with no interference, and maybe if they gave them just a bit more time. I'd REALLY like to see these two guys go at it again this year, possibly even for the TNA Title...

6. NWA Tag Team Title Match - LAX(c) vs. AMW
A bit of a disappointment. They didn't flow together well at all and it was pretty sloppy throughout. A pretty cool spot with Hernandez and Harris but that's about it.
**1/2
7. NWA World Title Match - Sting(c) vs. Abyss
I really liked this match. Just an all out streetfight as these guys beat the hell out of each other up and down the impact zone. For a man Sting's age to take a chokeslam on tacs with no shirt on is just insane, and the moment he kicks out of that and jumps to his feet is fucking AWESOME. My only dilemma was the finish. Abyss wins the title by DQ, and Tenay says this has been the rule for years. But I don't recall this ever happening... But still an awesome match.

8. Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe
The dream match of the decade. Joe's year and a half undefeated streak is on the line. The main event ahead the World Title match. So the question is, did it live up to the hype?? Hell yes it did. Phenomenal match. As you could imagine, the crowd was insanely into this one. Great wrestling. Stiff strikes. Just a great match. If they had went maybe 5-10 minutes longer(the match was only 13 minutes by the way), it could've been one of TNA's best ever...
****1/4
Overall: ***1/2
I really really enjoyed this PPV. Four ***1/2+ matches give this a very high recommendation from me. I'd say this was TNA's 2nd best PPV of the year behind BFG and in front of Lockdown.
