Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I personally would've gone higher on the KOTM and the mixed tag, but whatever. Still the best TNA PPV this year IMO, Genesis did have 2 matches which were both better than anything on this show but the overall show and atmosphere give Slammi the edge for me.

Do I really have to say anything?

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I watched two of the recently uploaded TNA Classic matches on YouTube...

LAX vs. Staniels (No Surrender 06, Ultimate X) ****1/2
If it weren't for the FR 05 classic, this would have been the best U-X ever. One of the best feuds in TNA history. LAX were great heels with Konnan in their corner. This match is MUCH better than the BFG SSOS match and is my favorite TNA match ever. The final minutes with the Frog Splash/BME/Spiral tap combo, the Styles Clash through the table and the finish with Daniels jumping is epic. The celebration with the crowd is one for the ages. A classic.

Senshi vs. Chris Sabin (Bound for Glory 2006) ****
Senshi never got enough credit for his work in TNA, he was a fantastic X-division wrestler. This match proved why he was the champion. Great back and forth action with hometown boy Chris Sabin. Lots of nearfalls. The crowd was stading for the final awesome minutes. I'm not a fan of the finish, but this is definitely one of the best X-division title matches in TNA history.

Puroresu FTW!

How's Bound For Glory 2006? Just thought I'd buy it at some point, but even a good-looking card could turn out to be an awful show.

Bound for Glory 06 is really good. Solid card and Senshi/Sabin and LAX/Styles and Daniels are both great.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Bound for Glory 2006 is very very good.

Pluses:

- It was the first TNA PPV held outside Orlando which gave is a much needed big time feel & a fun atmosphere. The crowd was great.

- Great Matches: The two standout matches on this show were pretty fucking good. AJ/Daniels vs. LAX in Six Sides of Steel & Sabin vs. Senshi for the X Title were both awesome. Then you had Christian vs. Rhino which was a pretty good hardcore match. Monster's Ball was alot of fun with Joe, Abyss, Raven, Runt, & Referee Jake Roberts having their fun moments. The Opening X Gauntlet & 4 Way Tags both provided some really cool action. Even Eric Young vs. Larry Z was fun for what it was & EY really showed how good of a worker he really is because he had the crowd eating out of his hands. The main event of Sting vs. Jarrett had that old school 1980s feel to it in that classic battle of good vs. evil and the ending was awesome.

- Angle & Joe had a brawl in the middle of the show and that really got people jacked up.

As for negatives....there weren't really any. It was an enjoyable PPV all around.

Samoa Joe/Kurt Angle vs AJ Styles/Jeff Jarrett-Impact 7/2-***1/4

What a great TV main event, this is one I wish I could've seen in full without the commercial breaks. Crowd was hot and all 4 guys looked awesome, probably the 2nd best TV match this year for TNA behind Daniels/Angle. I know it's not really saying all that much since TNA has had probably it's weakest year for TV matches this year since they got on Spike but nonetheless this was a great match.

Do I really have to say anything?

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I haven't seen it yet but looking at that review I'd say that Daniels/Angle, Match above, Red and Suicide/MCMG, 20 man steel cage gauntlet (no rating, just solid wrestling for a good 40ish minutes) and Steiner/Jarrett in a Cactus Jack Smack Attack.

What would everyone elses top 5 TV matches for this year be?

Beer! Money!

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

When was the tables match?

I completely forgot about Daniels/AJ, that might sneak in their. The tag tournament produced a lot of **+ matches, likewise with BMI's off the wagon challenge so the tag teams have been going strong too.
