Watched a couple of X Division title matches

Unbreakable 2005 - Daniels vs Joe vs AJ - ****3/4

Me and this match don't click. I've never found myself emotionally invested nor really wowed by this match. Sure it's a classic, it's 3 men battling it out and bumping like crazy, and its awesome! Daniels is the MVP of this match. The first few minutes of the match were really funny with Daniels getting double teamed by the two, he is very awesome in this match thats for sure. Aj and Joe play their parts, it all comes together to be the best X Division match of all time. However, I don't believe it's ***** stars but thats just me.

Sacrifice 2007 - Sabin vs Lethal vs Dutt - ****1/4

My favorite TNA match ever! Everything in this match clicks together for me. The action is non stop, and thr storytelling is top notch. This is just one of the many awesome matches in TNA's best PPV of all time and one of the best cards of all time too. Sabin and Dutt turn it up in the ring for a good portion. I also LOVE the interactions between Dutt and Lethal. All 3 men are on their game, Sabin and Dutt are the better part of this match. Overall I'm a huge mark for this match; hence the rating. Beautifully executed, nice psychology and a fucking great way to kick off an epic event.

Just my two cents on a couple of TNA's best matches, I would like to see ratings for Sacrifice 2007 if that's possible.

Did you confuse the ratings because that doesn't really make sense.

VICTORY ROAD 2008

Date July 13, 2008
Attendance 3,000
Venue Reliant Arena
City Houston, Texas

1. 12 man elimination tag team match

This match was a classic. In my opinion this is the best opener in TNA history. This was the semi finals of the TNA world X cup tournament. The match was about 30 minutes long and there were so many near falls and so many awesome moves. Some of these I never even knew existed.

There were no slow moments in this match. If you love spotfests than this match is for you. It was a serious 2008 MOTYC. I still cant believe that TNA actually gave these guys so much time to show of their skills.

At the end team TNA wins and gets 3 points which puts them ahead.
my match rating:****1/4

2. Gail Kim vs Angelina Love

This was a pretty decent Knouckouts match. Angelina dominates the first half of the match and at the end Gail Kim makes the big comeback. Gail Kim hits a really nice spear on Angelina at one point of the match.

I think this was one of the last times we had seen Gail Kim compete on a TNA ppv. Anyways this was probaby one of the weakest matches on this show and not it wasnt even that bad. At the end Kim wins with a neckbreaker.

After the match the Beautiful People try to attack her but she escapes.
my match rating:**1/2

3. Jay Lethal vs Sonjay Dutt

I loved this match. The story telling here was awesome. Sonjay was playing his role as a crazy guy perfectly and you could really feel how much Lethal hates and just wanted to hurt Sonjay for the hell he has put him through.

They both pull out some really nice moves on each other. The only problem with this match was that they kept pointing the camera on Val alitle to much.

At the end Sonjay Dutt roles up Lethal for the win after Lethal gets distracted by Val accidentally.
my match rating:***

4. Awesome Kong vs Taylor Wilde

This was the worst match of the night. Awesome Kong dominates with Taylor just hitting some dropkicks on her. the thing that I loved about this match was the ending where Taylor reversed all of Kong's moves and ended up rolling her up after she countered the Chokeslam.

After the match Awesome Kong attacks Taylor but right before she hits the Awesome Bomb on a steel chair Abyss comes out for the save. He ends up hitting the Black Hole Slam on Raisha Saed.
my match rating:*1/2

5. Beer Money vs LAX (fans revenge match)

This was a decent match between these two great teams. I really feel that the stipulation with the fans around the ring hurt the quality of the match.

Both teams hit their normal offense on each other and the match picks up towards the end with Super Mex. Honestly though I felt this match could have been alot better than it was. Still a decent match with a few nice moves.

At the end LAX wins with a nice Cutter that Homocide does of the top rope with one of the Beer Money guys on Hernandez's shoulders.
my match rating:**3/4

6. Finals of World X cup: Ultimate X match
This was the match with the amazing Leg drop from Kaz. I think everyone has seen this move by now. The guys in the match did not really feel that comfortable with the Ultimate X, well besides KAZ.

There is a couple of nice moves pulled out but nothing special other than the amazing move from KAZ. Probably one of the worst Ultimate X matches but still pretty good.

At the End team Mexico wins the match and wins the World X cup.
my match rating:***1/4

7. AJ Styles/Christian/Rhino vs Kurt Angle/Team 3D (Full Metal Mayhem)

This match is another amazing classic on this card. There is so many amazing crazy spots here that I cant even name them all. All of the men were on top of their game here.

This match is another MOTYC. And maybe even in some people's MOTN here. The match ends when Frank Trigg Attacks AJ Styles which causes Angle to hit him with an Angle Slam of a ladder through a table.

Just a brutal match. That is all I can say, and one of Christian's last classics in TNA Wrestling.
my match rating:****

8. Samoa Joe vs Booker T

The match starts of and it is obvious the crowd is on Booker's side. They boo the hell out of Joe. Both men bleed and Booker dominates at first. Towards the end of the match Samoa Joe just beats the hell out of Booker T.

Ok so here is the problem. Samoa Joe does nothing illegal and they stop the match because he is dominating Booker. They acted like he was beating the hell out of him with that Knife that he carries around now.

The ending is really confusing when you first see the match. Still a good match and I loved that they made Samoa Joe look like a monster like he was in 2006.
my match rating:***1/4

Overall this was one of the best TNA ppv's of the year with some really good matches. The main event had an intresting ending to say the least. TNA really surprised me with how well they did with this ppv.
7.5/10

I wont discredit the action as it was all there, but I do not adore this match like the rest of TNA fans. I still like the match, and it's obviously one of TNA's best but I am just not as invested in it as others or as I am with the Sac 07 TT. I dunno, that's just how I feel.

Victory Road 08 OWNS. 2nd best TNA PPV from 08 besides BFG. I'm a huge mark for both of those events.

If you acknowledge the action but dislike it either way then why rate it high?

Dante, solid review and it shows what a great PPV that was. The X-Cup matches were good-classic while I loved how the 3D/Christian and Rhino feud blended into AJ/Kurt to create a super fun match. I probably would have rated it a bit higher overall though.

Ranking the PPVs year by year:

2004:

1) Turning Point
2) Final Resolution
3) No Surrender
4) Bound for Glory
5) Genesis
6) Sacrifice
7) Unbreakable
8) Lockdown
9) Against All Odds
10) Hard Justice
11) Slammiversary
12) Destination X

- Mostly really good shows here filled with great wrestling.

2006:

1) Slammiversary
2) Bound for Glory
3) Lockdown
4) Genesis
5) Sacrfice
6) Against All Odds
7) Destination X
8) Final Resolution
9) Turning Point
10) Hard Justice

- Overall, my favorite year of TNA, especially the first half. Great great stuff.

2007:

1) Bound for Glory (Best TNA PPV ever IMO)
2) Sacrifice
3) No Surrender
4) Victory Road
5) Slammivesary
6) Genesis
7) Final Resolution
8) Destination X
9) Lockdown
10) Hard Justice
11) Turning Point
12) Against All Odds (worst TNA PPV ever IMO)

- PPVs here were somewhat mixed. Got some awesome shows & some down right awful ones.

2008:

1) Bound for Glory
2) Turning Point
3) Victory Road
4) Hard Justice
5) Final Resolution I
6) Slammiversary
7) Lockdown
8) Against All Odds
9) No Surrender
10) Destination X
11) Final Resolution II
12) Sacrifice

- Mostly very good PPVs, especially in the 2nd half of the year. There weren't really any terrible shows in 2008 that I can think of.

2009: So far

1) Genesis
2) Lockdown
3) Sacrifice
4) Destination X
5) Against All Odds

- Not the best year so far. AGA was the only truly bad show, but most of the PPVs haven't lived up to their potential (most notably Lockdown)

TNA Sacrifice 2009

Pretty cool how they showed everyone arrive, and how Foley was in a classic foley car.

1 -- MOTOR CITY MACHINEGUNS (ALEX SHELEY & CHRIS SABIN) & SHEIK ABDUL BASHIR vs. LETHAL CONSEQUENCES (JAY LETHAL & CONSEQEUENCES CREED) & ERIC YOUNG

Great match! For a match that wasnt even advertised, this wound up being one of the best matches on the card. Just total nonstop action, and many nearfalls and false finishes, these guys showed that they deserved to be on the card, and more.

Match grade-A

2 -- TAYLOR WILDE vs. DAFFNEY -- Monster's Ball match

Dissapointingly short, but it was some nice action while it lasted, and the aftermatch kinda made up for it.

Grade-C

3 -- X Division champion SUICIDE vs. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS -- X Division Title match

Dissapointing, but it was decent.Too much storyline drama and dumb finishes, and it seems like maybe Kaz came back a few months too early as he was a step behind Daniels the enitre time. But it was decent, there were a few nice spots.

Grade-C

4 -- KNOCKOUTS champion ANGELINA LOVE vs. AWESOME KONG

It was ok,some nice standard Big vs Small things here, but it was really just there, although Kong on a rampage after was cool.

Grade-C

5 -- SAMOA JOE vs. KEVIN NASH

Very decent match, borderline good,i was really getting into the match, then it just kinda ended,so i really wish it would have lasted another 5 minutes.

Grade-C

6 -- BEER MONEY, INC. (ROBERT ROODE & JAMES STORM) vs. BRITISH INVASION (DOUG WILLIAMS & BRUTUS MAGNUS w/Rob Terry) -- Finals of Team 3D Tag Team Tournament #1 contendership

A good solid match, nice action and funny commentary by 3d,i thought the brits would win.

Grade-B

7 -- Legends champion A.J. STYLES vs. BOOKER T (w/out Sharmell) -- Legends Title match -- I Quit match

Very Very GOOD match, one of Bookers best in some time, but the finish sucked, what a piece of crap finish that was.And i think they had another 5 minutes in them as well.So 5 more minutes and an ACTUAL finish would have been perfect. As it was a very good match.worth watching.

Grade-B

8 -- TNA Hvt. champion MICK FOLEY vs. JEFF JARRETT vs. STING vs. KURT ANGLE -- TNA World Title match

GREAT MATCH! I was really into this,it was very enjoying,Foley was a very funny Heel, and Angle continues to try new things, and shows how he is the best in the world, the false finishes were dramatic, and the action never stopped, finish well surprising, was done very well.

Grade-A

Overall-Honestly this was a very good ppv, even better than Lockdown, the first and the final match will make you happy u bought it,and everything else is decent to good. Get a couple guys together and cath the replay.
