Great pickups, two of the best TNA shows ever IMO.

Yeah, they still had Victory Road '07 and Slammiversary '07 but I didn't want to spend too much since I just picked up a Wii and Guitar Hero III earlier this week. I may head out next weekend after I get paid to see if they still have them on sale.

Well, I have VR and it's worth the 10 bucks. Pretty entertaing show, the UX Gauntlet and the ME are the only matches ***1/2+ but still a pretty good show.

As far as Slammiversary, the only matches even passable are KOTM(which was awesome),Abyss/Tomko(just for blood and guts) and Lethal/Sabin(solid match).

Unless you really want this in your collection, you could hold off for the Best of 07 DVD which will have the KOTM match plus alot of other's.

The only reason I wouldn't see buying this is if u own most of the 07 ppv's, and therefore alot of the matches you would already have.

I think it breaks down like this:

1 from Final Resolution(Angle/Joe)
0 from AAO
2 from DX(Rhino/Styles, Joe/Cage)
0 from LD
1 from Sacrifice(when there should be atleast 3 IMO, Harris/Storm)
1 from Slammiversary(KOTM)
0 from VR
1 from HJ(Angle/Joe)
1 from NS(Angle/Lethal)
3 from BFG(Angle/Sting, 3D/Steiners, and LAX/XXX)
1 from Genesis(Cage/Kaz)
1 from TP(Kong/Kim)

So unless you own more than half of those, I would wait it out for this DVD.

I only own VR and NS from this year, so I only own 1 match that should be on that set. I'm actually hesitant on buying BFG cause 3 matches will be on here but I still probably will cause Joe/Cage III and Lethal/Daniels are both two good matches as well.

I'm really just bulking up my collection so for $10 Slammiversary seems like a steal.

Reviews of a few DVDs I recieved over the holidays.

Bound for Glory 2006

X Division Gauntlet: ***1/2
Very entertaining match! Typical X Division style with fast paced action and some nice spots. Skipper shows off why he should be X Champion

4-Team Match: **
Nothing special but a watchable match. Some may disagree but this was like something off of Impact but still watchable and just felt kind of "here".

Monsters Ball: ***1/2
Good hardcore brawl, Joe can even show his greatness in this environment. I also enjoyed seeing Jake Roberts. Probably the second best Monsters Ball ever.

Eric Young vs. Larry Zbysko: DUD
Squash, all it did was provide a way to remove Zbysko.

Senshi vs. Chris Sabin: ****
Excellent X Division match and easily the MOTN so far. This was particularly enjoyable after the dissapoinment at No Surrender. Some nice spots and good kickouts in this one.

Rhino vs. Christian Cage: ***1/4
I was skeptic about having 2 hardcore style matches on PPV but it worked out. Very entertaining and some great spots. It loses some points because Cage practically no sold the Piledriver.

Styles and Daniels vs. LAX: ****1/4
Tremendous cage match but what can you expect from these 2 teams? Awsome action and athletisism in this one.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting: ***1/2
Underrated IMO! Good solid action in this match and left you with a good feeling to end the PPV. I personally mark everytime I see the guitar shots

Rating: 9/10 awesome PPV not great and with only one match that's bad there's litte you can do to complain. One of the best shows of the year!

Next up is Bound for GLory 2007

I went to use some of the cash on my Best Buy gift card that a family member got me for Christmas and got my hands on this year's Slammiversary DVD today.

Typing up my quick thoughts on the each match with ratings.

LAX vs. Senshi & Rhyno - **1/4.
Lethal vs. Sabin - ***1/4.
Wychek/Lynn vs. Storm/Killings - **
Shelley vs. Backlund - *
VKM vs. Basham & Damaja - 1/2*
Young vs. Roode - **3/4.
Team 3D vs. Animal/Steiner - *1/4.
Daniels vs. Sting - *1/2.
Abyss vs. Tomko - ***
Styles vs. Angle vs. Joe vs. Cage vs. Harris (King of the Mountain) - ***3/4.

Match extra: Storm vs. Harris on August 7th Impact - ***1/4.

I got to say I thought Slammiversary overall wasn't all too bad seeing. Opening match done by some solid action and Lethal & Sabin put out one small fine match together. The tag with Frank Wycheck for me was entertaining to watch. Now also believe that Eric Young/Robert Roode's best match with one another comes here. Abyss vs. Tomko went past my expectations for their match as that was indeed good and the King of the Mountain match has hit one of my favorite TNA matches of the year. Rest of the show is skip worthy though. But a better show from one of their now bigger events (feel Lockdown this year was a mediocre show). Also to point out, I love the match in the extras they put on this disc. Storm/Harris III being one of the better TV matches on Impact in the year is what makes it more sweet to have.
