Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Went to FYE today and picked up Final Resolution 2007, Destination X 2007, and No Surrender 2007 for $30. They also had Victory Road 2007 and Slammiversary 2007 but I didn't really care for those PPVs enough to pick them up right away. If they still have the sale after Christmas, I'll probably get them then.

Mmh, Victory Road and Destination X weren't better then Victory Road and definitely not better then Slammi IMO. Anyway still pretty good.

I felt Destination X absolutely murdered Slammmiversary. Other than KOTM, nothing really appealed to me. Victory Road was decent but I gave Destination X the slight edge because it included 2 bonus matches.

Yeah I kinda agree about Slammiversary. Other than KOTM, the only match that I liked was Lethal/Sabin.
It was entertaining but not really great matchwise. Sting/Daniels could have been great if went a little longer than 6 or 7 minutes.
I just watched Victory Road last night and its pretty good. One too many tag matches tho. The X gauntlet,Cage/Harris,and The ME are all pretty good but the rest is pretty average.
Final Resolution is actually a pretty underrated show. Joe/Angle is ****+, the X division 3 way is pretty solid and the ME is decent.
Now Destination X is one of those hard to decipher shows. I mean its not really bad but other than Joe/Cage, nothing was real memorable.
I would say there are all pretty similar shows as far as quality goes. Matchwise, Final Resolution is probably the best out of the 4.
Another reason why I pass on Slammivesary is cause there coming out with a Best of 07 DVD and KOTM is gonna be on there along with 2 matches from DX.
The only shows that don't have matches on that DVD are Lockdown(I dont know how the ME isnt on there, one of the best TNA matches this year), Victory Road(once again the X gauntlet comes to mind),and Against All Odds(sounds about right, this show was pretty bad.)
Plus, that DVD has 3 matches from BFG which is preventing me from picking that up somewhat.(I probably will eventually tho)
Lockdown,Final Resolution,Sacrifice, and Genesis are all shows I would consider buying as either they have no matches on the Best of DVD or one at the most.
BTW, No Surrender is one of the most slept on shows I can think of. Its atleast the 3rd best TNA ppv of 07.
I could make a case for 5-6 matches being atleast ***1/2. Great show.

I have to admit No Surrender was a solid PPV, but not as good as Genesis, Victory Road, BFG, Sacrifice or Slammiversary. There were a lot of solid matches, but nothing was realy exciting. The Angle vs Abyss match was totally not my kind of match and that killed a lot for me. Joe vs Cage was MOTN for me.

I have to disagree. No Surrender was easily better than Victory Road,Slammiversary, and Genesis.
The only ppv's IMO better than it were Sacrifice and BFG.
The Angle/Abyss match was a great psychological battle but most people couldn't appreciate it. I love that match.
Maybe Genesis or Slammiversary was more exciting but matchwise, No Surrender is all around better than both.
Victory Road isn't more entertaining or better in the ring IMO.
I agree about Joe/Cage being the MOTN.
I could make a case for 6 matches being ***1/2+ at No Surrender. Genesis,Slammiversary, and Victory Road don't have more than 2-3 each.

A few things made the PPV solid, instead of great.
You had a horrible Black Reign vs Harris match, Pacman won the gold without doing a shit and the ME was dissapointing.

Well yeah the Harris/Reign match sucked and the Pacman was thing was stupid but every other ppv had some matches just as bad.
I disagree about the ME, IMO it was a great match but I guess too slow for some people.
The amount of well above average matches on the show is more than any other TNA ppv from 07 except BFG and Sacrifice.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
After thinking about it a bit, I'll probably head out the day after Christmas and pick up Slammiversary '07 and Victory Road '07. Even though I didn't enjoy them as much as other PPVs this year, they're still a steal for $10 a piece. I'm hoping they still have Slammiversary in-stock because there was only one left while there was quite a few Victory Roads available. I was also thinking about picking up Unbreakable '05, Sacrifice '06, and Slammiversary '05 from TNA's website for $30.
Also, small question for Taroo, at your local FYE were all the PPVs on sale for $10 or was it just a select few?

Out of all the ones I saw, the only ones not $10 were BFG 07 and Lockdown 07. BFG is obvious cause it just came out but I'm not quite sure why Lockdown would have been more.
This place had a great selection of 05 and 06 as well, but from what I saw they were all $10.
Your right tho, it is such a good deal that it almost makes me wanna buy even some of the not so great shows just cause its still worth it for $10.
