Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
I could easily see Styles vs. Abyss at higher than ****, I've contemplated raising it and I might just do that after a couple more viewings.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Alright I got to my 3rd of 4 New DVD's, here's a quick review
Final Resolution 2006
Team Canada vs Lethal/King/Hoyt-**1/2
LAX vs The Naturals-*1/2
Shelley/Strong/Aries vs Sabin/Dutt/Bentley-***1/4-***1/2
VKM vs The Diamonds in the Rough-**1/4
Styles/Tanahashi-***1/4
Raven/Waltman-**3/4-***(Their House of Fun match from 05 is much better. Also, crap ending with Zybysko)
Killings/Roode-**3/4(Another bad finish)
Abyss/Rhino-***1/4
Team 3D vs AMW-**3/4-***(Once again a bad finish hurts this match. Up until the finish it's *** maybe ***1/4)
Daniels/Samoa Joe-***3/4(Another match with a questionable finish. AJ throwing in the towel for Daniels was pretty weak IMO. I've seen some people rate this as high as ****1/4 but I think that's too high. **** is still reasonable)
Christian Cage/Sting vs Monty Brown/Jarrett-***1/2
Overall it's a solid card with lots of ***+ matches but just too many botched, dodgy, and wacked out finishes.
The AMW/3D finish pissed me off especially. It made no sense at all. Also, there is interference or a ref bump in almost every match on the card, so that hurts it a bit.
It's still the worth a pickup especially since I only paid 5 bucks for it during the sale on the website.

I usually don't buy much TNA but during ROH's buy 3 get 1 free sale, I picked the Best Of AJ Styles Vol. 1 as my free dvd. Good choice?

Its a pretty solid pickup with alot of matches from the earlier days of TNA. Definitely a good addition to any wrestling DVD collection.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Today I got the best deal for No Surrender 2007. For some odd reason Suncoast were selling it for only 9.99! Really wierd because stores like Suncoast & FYE usually overprice their DVDs and make wrestling DVDs 25 bucks and other stupid prices like that when you can just buy them at Walmart for 15.
I wasn't planning on buying anything but that deal was too good being that this was one of the most solid TNA PPVs of the year and that it's hard to find any recent TNA DVDs in stores for good prices.

I have an explaination for you. FYE and Suncoast (and other stores in their family) have been doing a 50% off all TNA DVD's sale up until last week, and since No Surrender 07 came out during it, they sold it at $9.99 instead of $19.99. They did the same thing for Victory Road 2007 when it came out last month too, picked it for $9.99.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
So that means I could still pick up No Surrender at FYE for $9.99?

As long as you can find it, yep. It's an FYE family of stores exclusive anyways (so is Victory Road).
I've heard that the 50% off sale is actually still going on in some places, so definately check your FYE out if you want to try and catch some deals. I got several DVDs for under $10 each a couple weeks ago.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Good news, hopefully the FYE here will still have it.
I saw Victory Road there for 10 bucks a couple weeks back but figured I would wait on it. If I could go there and scoop Victory Road,No Surrender, and BFG(doubt it tho) all for 10 bucks each, I would be extremely happy.
I've been kinda slacking on the 07 releases other than a couple so I need to grab atleast a few.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
My ratings for the PPV matches on the Best of Samoa Joe DVD.
Slammiversary: Joe vs. Sonjay Dutt **1/2 (Above average debut)
No Surrender: Joe vs. Sabin **** (Great match! All I can say)
Sacrifice: Joe vs. Styles I ****1/2 (Tremendous match, set the stage for their classics still to come)
Unbreakable: Joe vs. Styles vs. Daniels ***** (You know the drill, classic match everybody has seen)
Bound for Glory: Joe vs. Jushin Liger *** (Short but great match, I think it's very underrated)
Genesis: Elimination X ****(One of the best elimination matches very IMO)
Turning Point: Joe vs. Styles ****3/4 (Classic! Up there with Unbreakable three way as one of the best matched in TNA history)
Final Resolution: Joe vs. Daniels **** (Unlike most people I don't mind the ending as it furthered the fued)
Unless you already have most of these matches it's a great DVD for a TNA fan. Joe gives some nice sitdown interviews inbetween the matches that are a good watch. This DVD is so much more than the Unbreakable match, highly recommended!
