My order from last week came in today. I ordered it last Friday so less than a week is pretty good time.

I've got some serious watching to do. Probably throw up some quick reviews a little later.

I've been kinda slacking but I finally finished my first DVD from the new ones I got this week.

Phenomenal: The Best of AJ Styles vol. 2

AJ/Abyss-6 Sides of Steel-****1/2-****3/4
AJ/Jeff Jarrett-***3/4
AJ/Daniels/Samoa Joe-*****
AJ/Roderick Strong-**1/2(Just too short)
AJ/Petey Williams-***3/4-****
AJ/Daniels vs AMW-****
AJ/Daniels vs LAX-Ultimate X-****1/2
AJ/Sabin-**1/2(Same as the strong match.)

Overall the DVD is pretty good. AJ/Abyss,the Unbreakable 3 way,and the Ultimate X make it worth the price alone.

The matches with Strong/Sabin are really only on here due to significance(1st Impact match and AJ's last X title win respectively).

Good matches with AMW,Jarrett, and Petey round out the DVD. The documentary is ok but nothing out of this world.(Its only like 20 minutes). It atleast shows you who AJ is beyond the ring and in some more personal moments.

There is a bonus match with Ron Killings from NCW(NWA Wildside) but I haven't watched it all the way thru yet.

It's a good pickup with some great matches and important moment in AJ's career.

Fuckin sweet I just got in my order from TNA's $5 DVD sale. Gonna go watch some TNA when they used to be really good. (2005 through anything Jarret-less 2006)

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Just got done my second out of 4 new DVD's.

Turning Point 2006

Ron Killings/Lance Hoyt vs Serotonin-**
Senshi/Shelley/Lethal/Dutt/Starr-***1/4-***1/2
Daniels/Sabin-***3/4
AJ Styles/Rhino-***(Could have been higher but the finish is weak)
LAX vs AMW-Flag/Ladder Match-***3/4-****
Abyss/Sting/Christian Cage-***1/4
Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe-****1/2(This is IMO the best match of their feud)

Overall this is a really solid show. Probably one of the 3 best TNA ppv's from 06 along with Lockdown and BFG.

Nice review but I think you overrated LAX/AMW a bit. I haven't watched it since last year so maybe I should watch it again. However, on first view I gave it ***1/4 - ***1/2.

Yeah I was just thinking that maybe it's a bit too high. It's an exciting match so maybe that lead me to rate it a bit over the bar.

I would still say a solid ***1/2 or so. Sometimes one watch isn't enough to give it a concrete rating, upon further review it becomes easier to give a match a definite rating.

Most of these are still pretty accurate but I would say Daniels/Sabin is considerably higher than ***, IMO anyway.

I'll have to watch this show again to really put a stamp on ratings cause some of them are harder ro rate than others.

Also I would put the Abyss/Sting/Cage match atleast ***(I had ***1/4) but once again just a matter of opinion.

I could see AJ/Rhino being that low with the wacked out finish and all but I still gave it ***.

I also gave Joe/Angle the extra 1/4* cause I believe firmly that it deserved it.

All in all somewhat similar but these things are always really opinion based.

The highest I'd give the Daniels/Sabin match is ***1/4. There's was something missing that I can't quite put my finger on. It's still a good match, don't get me wrong...

The triple threat title match wasn't all that special either. It was slow and sloppy. The ending came off horribly too.

If AJ/Rhino was a couple minutes longer, I would probably have it at ***. It's still a fun match to watch though. I still mark out every time I see the ending.

Also, I don't think Joe/Angle is ****1/2. I can't explain why, but it isn't. Maybe I need to watch it again.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

On the topic of Turning Point 2006:
1. PCS Match: ***1/4
2. Sabin vs. Daniels: ***1/4
3. Styles vs. Rhino: ** (Good pre/post action though)
4. Flag Match: ***1/2
5. Abyss vs. Cage vs. Sting: **1/2
6. Joe vs. Angle: ****1/2

I recently picked up the TNA Anthology set for less than twenty bucks and it's certainly a good buy. The set includes TNAs first two PPVs Victory Road 04 and Turning Point 04 as well as Lockdown 05.
Here's my personal ratings...

Victory Road:
1. X Gauntlet: ***1/2
2. Ron Killings, Erik Watts, Johnny B. Badd and Pat Kenney vs. The Naturals, Kid Kash and Dallas: *1/2
3. Mascarita Sagrada vs. Piratita Morgan: *
4. Trinity vs. Jacqueline: *1/2
5. Monsters Ball I: ***
6. Team Canada vs. 3Live Kru: **1/4
7. Petey Williams vs. Styles: ***
8. Jeff Jarrett vs. Jeff Hardy ***1/2
Average PPV, pretty disappointing for TNAs first three hour PPV.

Turning Point:
1. Team Canada vs. 3Live Kru: ***
2. Kid Kash, Matt Bentley and Kazarian vs. Sonjay Dutt, Sonny Siaki and Hector Garza: ***
3. Monty Brown vs. Abyss: ***1/2
4. NYC vs. Pat Kenney and Johnny B. Badd: **
5. DDP vs. Raven: ***1/4
6. Petey Williams vs. Sabin: ****
7. Kings of Wrestling vs. Styles, Hardy and Macho Man: **1/2
8. Triple X vs. AMW: ****3/4
Amazing PPV, nothing on the card I would call bad other than the NYC filler and it started the long trend of awesome PPVs into 2005.

Lockdown:
1. Sonny Siaki and Apolo vs. Chris Candido and Lance Hoyt: *1/2
2. Dustin Rhodes vs. Bobby Roode: **1/4
3. Xscape Match: ***1/2
4. Hardy vs. Raven: ***1/2
5. AMW vs. Team Canada: ***3/4
6. Daniels vs. Skipper: ***1/4
7. Lethal Lockdown: ***1/4
8. Styles vs. Abyss: ****
Another awesome PPV, started off a little weak and IMO had the weakest Lethal Lockdown but still had lots of solid matches especially the main event.

I have never seen the whole VR 04 PPV so I cant comment on that. TP 2004 certainly is a great ppv and I would agree with most things there cept I would maybe even give AMW/XXX the full *****.

****3/4 is still certainly acceptable but I would consider giving it the full ***** cause it is that good IMO.

As far as Lockdown 05, I don't really remember the rest of the card well but I certainly would have Styles/Abyss higher than **** but that's just IMO.

It's personally one of my favorite TNA matches.

Other than that I can't really comment cause I don't own VR 04 and LD 05 but I do have TP 04 so maybe I'll watch it again for a refresher.
