Angle showed psychology but that bastard Nagata forgot to sell it later on the match . But i agree no great storytelling.

If you think Nagata/Angle is **** or more, you'd probably think Nagata/Tanahashi from April 2007 is on the verge of *****.

Seriously though, definitely check out Nagata/Tanahashi if you thought his Angle match was that good.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Angle/Cage I, Angle/Cage II, Angle/Styles II, and Angle/Jarrett are the only Angle matches that are **** or higher. All his other 'big' matches are in the ***1/4 - ***3/4. Pretty impressive resume all around though.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Angle wrestler of the year for TNA? Well that depends on how you look at it.

If you are looking at it purely from the standpoint of his wrestling matches, this might be Kurt Angle's best year ever. The Globlal Impact match with Nagata, his matches with Christian, his big main event with Joe, his matches with AJ Styles, & his recent epic encounter with Jeff Jarrett, Angle has had the best matches of any TNA wrestler in 2008.

However, if you look at it from a storyline standpoint, I'd actually give wrestler of the year to AJ Styles. He started out in a successful tag team with Tomko, but then slowly broke away from "The Prince of Phenomenal" and molded back into the AJ Styles of old with a new edge. He went from being in a tag team tournament to having a semi-main event match with Kurt Angle, and from there he has once again been heavily featured as one of TNA's top stars, and a World Title win seems very likely for The Phenomenal One.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Angle's build/story with Samoa Joe before Lockdown was pretty big too.

I know a lot of people didn't like the Karen Angle stuff throughout the year.
