Im not huge on Angle/Joe I. Maybe ***1/2. Turning point match owns it easily.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Good lists.

I don't think my list has changed much. But I'll again put down my overall top five "favorite" TNA matches for 2008, in order it'll be:

1). AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle (Last Man Standing) - Hard Justice.
2). Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage - Against All Odds.
3). Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle - Lockdown.
4). Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage - Final Resolution.
5). Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong (No DQ) - Final Resolution.

I can't wait until the Cross The Line DVD 3 pack comes out next month, so I can at last see Victory Road.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Here is my Victory Road review which I posted a long time ago. I still have it as my best TNA PPV this year, but I still have to see BFG.

Quote:
Victory Road 2008

12-man Elimination X: ****1/4
Incredible match. Fast-paced, non-stop action for almost 30 minutes. Never a dull moment and it even got better near the end. I’m glad to see Shelley shone in this match. It’s a kinda match you won’t see often with all these different styles, but it worked well and I enjoyed every second of it. The only bad thing I can say is that the match lacked some big spots like in the U-X or FMM match. If I had 2-3 of those, my rating would be higher.

Gail vs Angelina: **
Decent showcase of both girl’s wrestling abilities. Kim needs a better finisher though.

Lethal vs Dutt **1/2
Solid match for as long it lasted, but it had more potential. There was too much focus on Val during the match and I’m not really into this feud tbh. Probably their HJ match will be better.

LAX vs Beer Money INC ***
Like always LAX was way over in this match. I’m not a huge fan of lumberjack matches, but this one was fun to watch. The focus was on the wrestling inside the ring where all 4 delivered a fun and strong match. Beer Money is just pure gold both in and out the ring.

Taylor vs Kong **
Once again perfectly booked match with Kong looking like and undefeatable force in the Knockouts division. The match was too short to shine, but it was very good. I liked the post-match beatdown, too bad Abyss came in to help.

Ultimate X ***1/2
Not as fast-paced as other U-X matches and certainly not as fast-paced as the opener. Still a solid match which I enjoyed very much. Kaz once again put his body on the line with an incredible leg drop. Some other nice spots made it a fun match to watch actually.

FMM 6-man tag: ***3/4
From the opening belt, a brawl started and it never ended actually. AJ’s summersault dive in the opening minute set the tone. Very good match overall, highlighted by an amazing cross body from Christian. Near the end it kinda slowed down tho.

Booker vs Joe ***1/2
Crowd was really into this match as they booed Joe and cheered for Booker. Joe played the crowd very well and dominated most of this match. Near the end he totally destroyed Booker. I still don’t know why the refs tried to stop Joe because he did nothing wrong actually.. Sting’s interference was a great segment actually. I hoped Joe laid out Sting actually. Strange ending to say at least… left you with a strange taste.

Overall: 8/10
TNA’s best PPV of the year for me. Some people were complaining about the booking, but I thought it was booked perfectly and the wrestling we got was awesome.

Puroresu FTW!

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

^nothing amazes me anymore, fuck the haters the ppv was quality in every way possible. The only real bad match was the bimbo brawl and no one really expected much from that pile.
