I remember the show being pretty good as well. That Strong/Aries match is very underated.

Need to re-watch the show.

Thanks. If you say it's as good as it is, then I'm definitely buying it.

I agree with those ratings, although I had the X gauntlet at **** the last time I watched it. A very low **** tho, could see myself lowering it to ***3/4 possibly.

Just one of those matches that defines what the X division is all about.

Ultimate X Gauntlet is a very high ***3/4 for me. The stunner from the ropes is insane and the xXx reformation was well done. Great, fun match.

Ultimate X, No Surrender 06 ****1/2. One of my favourite matches of all time. What a great feud between Staniels and LAX for the tag belts. I loved the Frog Splash/BME/Spiral Tap combo.

-Complete No Surrender review will be up later tonight.

Beside the fact that you rate matches lower than most of us (nothing wrong with that), I understand you. The match was nothing really amazing, but it was just exciting to watch. The insane spot and the reunion were both so well done. A fun match with some good action. I go back and forth between ***1/2 and ***3/4.

It’s bit late, but school just restarted and Bret Hart’s DVD arrived so I had some legit excuses. Anyway here’s my review of:

TNA No Surrender 2008

Sting promo
After a great video intro (as usual), Sting’s music plays and he comes out. He gets a great response with a ‘you’re a legend’ chant. He says he’s happy to be back in Canada and announces that he’ll be in the ME of BFG. He hesitates and it looks like he forgot his lines. Then he goes back to the ‘respect’ rant and even refers to Bret Hart. Nothing amazing, but a good promo to kick off the show.

R’R Infection vs Prince Justice Brotherhood
What a match to start with. A good mix of comedy and wrestling. Never a dull moment and fast paced action. Curry Man was just great, but Hemme was amazing. I want a headlock as well! Short, but really fun opener. - *3/4

Awesome Kong vs ODB - Fall Count Anywhere
A good, but again short match. Nothing really amazing, just a good brawl and a showcase of what the women in TNA can do. Both worked hard, too bad the table spot failed. Like usual Awesome Kong was dominant and finished with a brutal ending. **1/4

Morgan/Abyss vs Team 3D
Okay match here, nothing really special. It advanced the storyline going into BFG’s Monster’s Ball and progressed Abyss’ character. They are really pushing Abyss and Morgan, hopefully it leads somewhere. *1/2

Abdul Bashir vs Creed vs Petey Williams(c) - X-Division Title
A very good, fast paced match with lots of cool moves. They used all three very well and they worked well together. It really sucks Creed gets booed, because he works hard and is full of energy. I marked for the ‘you screwed Bret’ chants and especially when Earl teased to ring the bell while Bashir was in the sharpshooter. Like most of the matches, too short to shine, but they used all the time they had very well. Ending was well done, but actually nobody cares about Bashir. **3/4

Angelina Love vs Taylor Wilde(c) - Knockouts Title
This match had so much potential, but once again too short to be anything above **. Still, the action was very good and Taylor looked really strong again in the ring. Let’s hope these two will face eachother again soon with more time. **

Jay Lethal vs Sonjay Dutt - Ladder of Love
This match really made up for their previous encounters. One heck of a ladder match with lots of cool and new spots. Both man worked very hard and took some crazy bumps. Best spot was when Lethal was in the three of woe with his head in the ladder and Sonjay give him an hesitation dropkick. Best match of the night so far and I enjoyed every minute. One of the best ladder matches in TNA. ***3/4

LAX vs Beer Money INC(c) - Tag Titles
Just like their previous matches, this one was a very good tag match. I love the feud and especially Beer Money’s perfect heel work. They are just great. The match was fun to watch and had some good action. Hernandez’s flying around was the moment of the match for me. I’m glad Beer Money INC. retained, just too bad the match was this short. **3/4

Frank Trigg vs AJ Styles - MMA style match
Every single second this match lasted, it was a second taken away from other matches that deserved more time. TNA: We are wrestling? This was fake MMA. Crowd was really harsh tho. Fire Russo chants are not funny actually, I hope TNA fans realize that for once. I’m glad AJ went over Trigg, that was the only good thing I can say about this ‘match’. DUD

Samoa Joe(c) vs Christian Cage vs Kurt Angle - TNA WHC
Due to the hurricane Ike, Booker couldn’t make it to Canada. The three others however did a fantasic job and delivered a great main event. The fact that Joe was gonna retain whatsoever, kinda killed the match, but throughout the match I got hooked and I was really into the action. Some great wrestling with belly-to-belly’s, reversals, a tower of doom and high-risk moves and many other cool moments. At one point I thought Cage had Joe. Interesting to see JJ interfere instead of Sting. ***3/4

Overall: 7/10
This PPV wasn’t as good as the two previous ones. The expectations were really high for this one, but there were too many matches on the card. Only the ladder match and the main event got enough time and these were the best matches of the night. There was nothing bad on the show tho and it was fun to watch from beginning till end. You get two great promos from Joe and Christian as well. Summary: nothing amazing, but still thumps up.
