First of all, people say TNA has too many gimmick matches now? Take a look at this card: A Bullrope Match, A Falls Count Anywhere Match, A Taped Fist First Blood Match (what?), An Ultimate X Challenge, & A Lumberjack Match. Now I'm not saying some of these matches weren't good, but this was just a PPV that was gimmick overkill. The Ultimate X especially felt like too much because they had just done one in January, and one in December before that. And out of all those matches, I'd say Hardy vs. Abyss: Falls Count Anywhere was the only one that was acceptable given the feud.

And talk about bad booking. Nash vs. Kip James had a really ridiculous finish (whatever happened to the evil lawyer Dagget?), Hardy beat Abyss even though Abyss was supposed to be the Number One Contender (although he never got that particular title shot anyway) There was that bad tag match between The Harris Brothers & Phi Delta Slam, which was a bout to determine whether Traci or Trinity would be Dusty Rhodes' assitant. Next week on Impact: They are both his assistants so the bad match meant nothing. And then Monty Brown. Poor Monty. This is the PPV that killed him. They turned him heel, which made absolutely no sense because he was definately the most over guy in TNA at that point, and given his football past, was also somebody that had cross over appeal. Not only that, but he also had to have that horrendous match with Trytan which had the single worst booked finish to a match I've ever seen. I'm not kidding.

Now thats not to say there aren't good matches on here. Hardy vs. Abyss was definately better than their FMM match from Against All Odds. DDP & Jarrett had a good match, and Ultimate X Challenge was good for what it was, even though I was sick of UX at that point. Its just the booking of this show was so bad that I just don't even bother picking it up. I watched it once and that was enough.

Now 2006 was much better. Wasn't a fantastic show, but pretty good overall.

One thing I really liked was the running story they had throughout the PPV. Sting had retired from wrestling, but the actions of Jeff Jarrett and his crew caused him to snap and he threatened to appear at this PPV to get revenge. This led to several skits with Jarrett sending Alex Shelley & Eric Young to go find him, and this was when both Shelley & Young were most interesting, IMO (well Shelley was really good during the whole thing with Nash too) And it paid off big at the conclusion to the show. I won't spoil it, but I thought it was really well done and very cool.

As for the matches, Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal was a pretty solid X Division bout, Team Canada vs. The Naturals (despite having done this match 20 times) was pretty good. LAX vs. The James Gang was a feud that was excellent from a storyline persepctive, but the matches...not terrible, but not really good either. There was also a really good X 4 Way between Sabin, Puma, Dutt, & Petey which was billed as a World X Cup Preview. There was also AJ vs. Daniels vs. Joe in Ultimate X. The match itself was good, but I think people expectations were so high, that it just couldn't live up. Like I said, it was good, but there have been better UXs. Its worth checking out though. My favorite match was the Eight Man War with Jarrett, Abyss, & AMW taking on Ron Killings, Rhino, & Team 3D. That match was just balls to the walls insanity from bell to bell. Very exciting and very fun. The main event was Christian vs. Monty Brown for the gold, in what was a good main event.

Overall, I'd say neither PPV is an absolute must have unless you are seeking to have all the TNA PPVs in a collection or something. I wouldn't touch 2005 with a stick though, and 2006 is a pretty darn good show, and you wouldn't regret picking that one up.
I see....speaking of Joe/Styles/Daniels matches, how was their 3-Way Match at Against All Odds? Obviously it won't be better than the Unbreakable match, but is it somewhere close to the Unbreakable Match? Or just decent like the Ultimate X?

^^^ The AGA06 AJ/Daniels/Joe 3 Way was very good. Like you said, its not as good as the Unbreakable match, but still a damn good one, and one of the better X Title matches of 2006 for sure. A worthy sequel is the best way to put it.

Huh, alright. So your top two would be BFG and TP04, huh?
I think it may be hard to find 2004 PPVs at Best Buy, last time I checked I don't recall anything that early.

Amazon.com has a DVD package called the TNA Anthology that has Turning Point 2004, Victory Road 2004 and Lockdown 2005 in it for like $20

It's a great deal for 3 incredible shows
