AJ/Christian-Impact 9/4-***1/4 (With a clean finish atleast 1/4* higher)

Great tv match, good believeable nearfalls and these 2 have awesome chemistry. They wrestled at a great pace too, not blazingly fast but still very quick.

^^^ The FR2005 Ultimate X is my personal favorite UX. Fantastic match.

Just watched Genesis 2007 again. Pretty good show overall.

- There were some segments involving drinking contests between EY & James Storm. Some of them were funny, some weren't, but I didn't really have a problem with them overall.

- 1st match was the "Shop of Horrors" match between Abyss & Black Reign, and much to my surprise, it was actually pretty good! Way better than anybody thought anyway. Pretty entertaining stuff wtihb Mitchell getting the rat shoved down his pants, and some spots involving Mouse Traps (oww!)

- Next up we get one of the best matches on the show as The Motor City Machine Guns take on Team 3D. This was one of the best tag matches of 2007 for sure. Great bout with clashing styles, and we got a nice shock at the end with the Guns picking up the win. I love this match.

- Women's title was on the line next with Gail Kim defending against ODB, Roxxi, & Angelina Love (called Angel Williams here) With ODB & Roxxi as heels, and Williams as a face. It was weird watching this match now since ODB & Roxxi are now faces & Angelina Love is now one of the best heels on the show. My how times change. Anyways, this was a good solid match. Nothing special, but this was a good time killer before they pulled the trigger on Gail vs. Kong.

- X Title on the line next as Jay Lethal defended against Sonjay Dutt. This was way before they went ahead with their feud that is going on now. Both guys were still friends here, but they teased a Dutt heel turn. Man they waited a long time to finally make that move didn't they? They were teasing a heel turn for Dutt way back in May 2007! Anyways, this match was alright. Nothing special, but not bad either.

After the match, Team 3D beat up both Lethal & Dutt and stole the X Title, setting up that Team 3D vs. X Division feud. Good segment to have for setting that up.

- Next match was AJ Style s& Tomko defending their tag team gold against The Steiner Brothers. Being a huge fan of The Steiners, I actually enjoyed this match. It wasn't as good as the matches they had with Team 3D or Tomko & Nernard at Global Impact, but still a fun tag match.

- The next match was a really good display of clashing styles as Samoa Joe took on Robert Roode. This was a pretty good match. I wasn't sure how well these two would mesh, but they looked really good with each other. Traci Brooks passed out legit in the middle of the match and that seemed to throw things off a little bit, but they did a good job of handling that and we got a pretty good match out of it.

- Next up was one of the best matches of the year as Kaz took on Christian Cage in a Ladder Match in the Finals of Fight for the Right. This was an amazing match. You won't find too many Ladder matches that are better. Some of the spots they did in this one were just insane. Awesome match here, and the main reason to check out Genesis 07.

- Then we got the main event: Kurt Angle & Kevin Nash vs. Sting & ??? with Angle's World title on the line. I hate the concept of a World title being defended in a tag match, but the debut of Booker T as Sting's partner really made the match exciting, and special. Booker was the clear cut star here, and the most over guy in the match for sure. We also got the birth of The Angle Alliance which was really cool, and that obviously led to some good things.

- But that's not all! Included on the Genesis DVD is the Kaz vs. Kurt Angle World Title match that took place on the Impact after Genesis. This was a great match with Kaz taking Kurt Angle to the limit. I thought the ending was a tad weak, but the match was great, and you won't find too many Free TV matches that are better.

So overall, Genesis is really enjoyable, with some really good matches, one fantastic match, and the TNA Debut of Booker T, and if you pick up the DVD, you get a great Kaz vs. Kurt Angle match. As for the rest of the matches, there is nothing bad at all. Women's & X matches were solid, and I enjoyed the tag title match largely for nostalgic purposes, and Shop of Horrors was way better than expected. Definately worth the price I paid.

Match Rankings
1) Kaz vs. Christian
2) MCMG vs. Team 3D
3) Kaz vs. Kurt Angle (Bonus Match)
4) Joe vs. Roode
5) Sting/Booker vs. Angle/Nash
6) Abyss vs. Reign
7) AJ/Tomko vs. Steiners
8) Lethal vs. Dutt
9) Gail vs. ODB vs. Roxxi vs. Angel

The Best of Samoa Joe: Unstoppable

Quote:
vs. Sonjay Dutt (Slammiversary 2005) - **1/2
vs. Delirious (iMPACT 6/24/05) - 1/2*
vs. Chris Sabin (No Surrender 2005) - ****1/4
vs. AJ Styles (Sacrifice 2005; Super X Cup Finals) - ****1/2
vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels (Unbreakable 2005 TNA X-Division Title) - *****
vs. Jushin Liger (Bound for Glory 2005) - ***
w/Daniels/Shelley/Strong vs. Sabin/Dutt/Aries/Bentley (Genesis 2005; Elimination X) - ****
vs. Amazing Red (iMPACT 12/8/05) - 3/4*
vs. AJ Styles (Turning Point; XDivision Title) - ****3/4
vs. Jay Lethal (iMPACT 12/17/05) - *
vs. Christoper Daniels (Final Resolution 2006; X-Division Title) - ****
Awesome compilation featuring 6 matches at **** or higher. Also featured rare iMPACT matches and while they were squashes, they were fun. The Unbreakable match is still ***** to me. Everything looked so good here as all 3 workers were on their game. Truly the definition of the X-Division (much like Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero at Halloween Havoc was the defining match of the WCW Cruiserweight division) The AJ matches blew away anything I ever saw the two do against each other in ROH. The Turning Point match is the 3rd best match in the company's history imo behind only the Unbreakable match and the Turning Point Cage match featuring Triple X and AMW from a year prior. Joe was booked like a God throughout this DVD. Really makes me miss him this way but I guess not everything can stay the same.

A must buy for anyone who even like Joe.

Genesis 2007 is one of my favourite PPV's. Second best of 2007, tie with Sacrifice.

Abyss vs Black Reign **1/2 (best Reign match and better than anyone expected)
MCMG vs 3D ***3/4 (I absolutely loved this feud and the matches between them. Too bad they never continued the Guns feud)

Lethal vs Dutt ***
Steiners vs AJ/Tomko **3/4
Roode vs Samoa Joe ***3/4 (very underrated match)
Kaz vs Christian **** (what a great match.. the frog splash is isane)

Overall 8/10
MOTN: Christian vs Kaz

Kaz vs Angle (Impact) ***1/2

Delirious wrestled in TNA? I never knew that. Great review Viva, I agree with pretty much all your ratings.

Anyway, thought I'd throw out a list of notable TNA TV matches this year.

Gail/Kong-1/10-***-***1/4
AJ/Joe/Cage-1/17-***1/4-***1/2
Angle/Nagata-1/17-****1/4
Angle/Cage-3/6-Six Sides Of Steel-***3/4
Angle/Nash-Sometime in March/April-***
MCMG/Cage & Rhino-4/24-***1/2
Joe/Angle-4/24-***1/2-***3/4
Gail/Kong-5/15-***1/4
Cage/Tomko-5/29-***1/4
Kaz/Curryman/Devine/Sabin/Rave-6/5-X KOTM-***3/4
Joe/Kaz-6/12-***1/4
MCMG/Speed Muscle-6/12-***3/4
MCMG/Dux & Daivari-6/19-***1/2
Guerrero & Bucanero/Speed Muscle-6/26-***1/2
AJ & Rhino & Cage/Angle & 3D-7/24-Tables Match-***
Gail/Kong-8/21-Street Fight-***
AJ/Cage-9/4-***1/4

I might be forgetting a few, but it's been a solid year of TV matches on Impact. Nothing over **** cept Angle/Nagata and that's kind of an iffy one, but there's been some really good matches.

Delerious wasn't there long. If I recall correctly, he was in an X Division Six Way Match at Slammy 05, and then jobbed to Joe at the next Impact (aired on the net) and that was it.

Good job on remembering alot of those matches dude. I forgot some of them, and props for naming Angle vs. Nash. That was a really good match. The second one was too.
