Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Ok well here's Volume 2
AJ
vs Abyss-Lockdown 05-****1/2
vs Jarrett-Hard Justice 05-***1/2
vs Daniels/Joe-Unbreakable 05-*****
vs Roderick Strong-Impact 05-**1/2 or so (This was the 1st match on Impact, that's why it's included)
vs Petey Williams-Genesis 05-***3/4
w/Christopher Daniels vs AMW-Slammi 06-****-****1/4
w/Christopher Daniels vs LAX-No Surrender 06-****1/4-****1/2
vs Chris Sabin-Impact-**3/4 or so
The tv matches I'm not really sure on, there really just there cause either AJ wins the title or their significant. Some places advertise his match with Daniels vs LAX from Hard Justice 06, but it's not on my DVD. From what I hear, it's around ***3/4.
There's also a 20 minute or so documentary that's pretty good, as wel as bonus footage with AJ at his high school and with his son. There's also a bonus NWA wildside match against Ron Killings, it's ok but I never really paid much attention to it.
As for Volume 1, I haven't seen alot of the matches on there in a long time but I can give you ratings for a couple on volume 1.
AJ
vs Lynn/Low Ki/Psicosis-1st TNA PPV-****1/2
vs Lynn/Low Ki-Ladder Match-****1/4
I know alot of other matches on there are good as well, I just don't remember them well enough to rate them. Both volumes are a good pickup tho, especially if your trying to familiarize yourself with his career.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Ok thanks. If I decide to pick one up I'd probably go with the second one since it does have the Unbreakable three way.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
The 1st volume has matches from 02-04 and is pretty much the early years of TNA, while the 2nd DVD runs from early 05 until about late 06.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a 3rd volume released sometime in the near future.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Managed to watch the first match of Lockdown last night before I lost power
X-Division Xscape 2008: ***
I was very disappointed in this match but that's not to say it wasn't a really good match but I've come to expect more from this annual match. I felt eliminations were too soon and too quick and the ending was pretty weak. But on a brighter note it was full of great X-Division action that got the crowd going and that makes it a great opener. But still didn't live up to Xscapes of the past.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
I have the first Volume and it's pretty great. It's really just interesting to see matches from the early days of TNA. I didn't realize that the second volume had so many good matches on it though. I might have to pick it up once I'm not so backed up on my DVDs (I have a ton of stuff that I haven't even watched yet so I won't be getting anything new for a while).

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Here's another one!
Top Ten Abyss Matches in TNA:
1) Vs. Christian Cage: Lockdown 2006 - Awesome match up. One of the best World Title matches in TNA history IMO.
2) Vs. Sting: Genesis 2006 - This bout was kind of a dream match for me and it didn't disappoint. This match was just fucking nuts! And the ending was actually pretty cool, and I gotta admit, I marked when Abyss won the title because I didn't expect it.
3) Vs. AJ Styles: Lockdown 2005 - This is the match that put Lockdown on the map. THey had to follow 7 cage matches and still managed to put on a great one. Plus this list HAD to have an AJ/Abyss match. I'll never get sick of their matches. They always work well together.
4) Vs. Sabu: Barbedwire Massacre from Turning Point 2005 - Voted TNA's MOTY for 2005. One of the sickest matches I've ever seen
5) Vs. Raven: Dog Collar Match from No Surrender 2005 - Bit of a forgotten match, but one of TNA's best Hardcore Matches. I'll never forget that bit with Raven stapling a dollar bill to Abyss' head. Just nasty.
6) Vs. Kurt Angle: Impact - Looking over the 10 I selected, this is the only one that isn't a gimmick/No DQ/Hardcore match. Abyss actually is a good wrestler (I saw him Wrestle Joe at a house show and he did well) and this was one of the few times where TNA let him display his talent without using weapons, and he hung in there well with Kurt.
7) Vs. Rhino: Streetfight from Against All Odds 2006 - ANother forgotten one, but this was also a great hardcore match between two guys that know how to do it right.
8) Vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Sabu vs. Rhino: Monster's Ball II - Monster's Ball has to be on the list somewhere. Abyss made the match famous. Anyways, this is one of the craziest matches I have ever seen. No psychology at all whatsoever, but just completely insane and fun to watch.
9) Vs. Sting: Prison Yard Match from Against All Odds 2007 - I really enjoyed this one. I tended to hate the matches that TNA would do where they basically just put the guy sin a No DQ match but did like a fancy set (Little Italy Streetfight for 3D & LAX) but this set looked awesome, so I didn't care. Sting & Abyss also had a really fun match too.
10) Vs. Monty Brown vs. Raven: Monster's Ball from Victory Road 2004 - This is the match where Abyss began his reign as Mr. Hardcore in TNA as he suffered his first thumbtack spot. As fun as this match was, Abyss' bouts would only get more violent from here.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Random matches I just watched
Cage/Kaz-Genesis 07-****1/4
Kaz/Angle-Impact 07-***3/4
Angle/Sting-BFG 07-**** (Had it at ***3/4 before, but the storytelling is just so awesome)
And now Top 10 of 07 just because
1. Harris/Angle/AJ/Cage/Joe-KOTM-Slammi-****1/2
2. Storm/Harris-Texas Deathmatch-Sacrifice-****1/2
3. Joe/Cage-BFG-****1/4
4. Kaz/Cage-Ladder Match-Genesis-****1/4
5. Joe/Cage-Destination X-****-****1/4
6. Abyss/Steiner/Tomko/AJ/Cage vs Jarrett/Sting/Joe/Rhino/Angle-Lethal Lockdown-Lockdown-****-****1/4
7. Sting/Angle-BFG-****
8. Dutt/Lethal/Sabin-Sacrifice-****
9. Lethal/Angle-No Surrender-****
10.Daniels/Lethal/Puma/Senshi/Skipper/Homicide/Kaz/Dutt/Petey/Sharkboy-Ultimate X Gauntlet-Victory Road-****

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread
Finally rewatched the TP 04 Cage Match. Greatest match in TNA history. Trying to settle on a rating but it's close to 5
