Aj vol. 2 is very very good. I'd say better than Vol 1.

It starts with AJ/Abyss from Lockdown...AWESOME

Next is AJ vs. Jarrett at HJ for the title. It's a good match, but the ending makes it special.

Then its the classic 3 Way from Unbreakable between AJ, Joe, & Daniels. This is highly praised by many as the greatest match in TNA history. I don't necessarily agree, but you find many that are better.

Then its AJ vs. Roderick Strong from the first Impact on SpikeTV. This match is special because TNA fans voted that they wanted AJ Styles to open up the 1st Impact on Spike. Match itself was little more than a squash, but it is significant for the reason I already stated.

AJ vs. Petey from Genesis 2005 is a bit of a forgotten classic. Even I forgot how good it was. It doesn't quite have the atmosphere of their VR04 match, but its still a damn fine X Division title match.

AMW vs. AJ & Daniels for the tag titles was my pick for MOTY for 2006. I know nobody agrees, but you'll find few tag matches that are better IMO.

Next up is one of the greatest Ultimate X matches ever as AJ & Daniels face off with LAX. Excellent match.

And finally you get AJ Styles vs. Chris Sabin for the X Title on Impact. Kind of a strange match to close with. It's solid, but nothing truly special.

And then of course there is a bunch of stuff on AJ's personal life and we get to hear comments from the Phenomenal One, and that is always a treat.

As for Scars and Stitches, I don't have it, but I have seen all the matches and I have most of them.

Rhino vs. Jarrett from TP05 - Really good & exciting main event. Kind of gets overlooked.

Lethal Lockdown 2006 - IMO, the best Lethal Lockdown TNA has put on. Sting, AJ, Rhino, & Killings vs. Jarrett, Steiner, & AMW, and everybody contributed something great to the match.

AJ/Daniels vs. LAX: Six Sides of Steel from BFG06 - Great cage match and pretty violent. Great way to cap off this great feud.

Rhino vs. Christian: Barbedwire Steel Cage from Impact - Another fantastically violent match.

Angle vs. Joe: Genesis 2006 - Doesn't come to mind when I think of violent/hardcore match, but the two captured great intensity and gave off the impression that they were trying to kill each other. Great match too.

Sting vs. Abyss: Last Rites from DX07 - Now this is the one that had me scratching my head. Yeah, its the bloodiest of the Sting/Abyss matches, but this is also the 1st Match where fans chanted "Fire Russo" because they hated the set up of the casket and everything. Sting & Abyss managed to make it decent, but their Prison Yard Match & their Genesis match were WAY better.

Storm vs. Harris: Texas Deathmatch from Sacrifice 2007 - Nice to see they included this despite Harris not being with the company anymore. This is one of the greatest matches in TNA history, and probably the greatest Hardcore match TNA has ever put on. It was fantastic. Best TNA Match of 2007 IMO.

Abyss vs. Tomko: No DQ Match from Slammiversary 2007 - This was a much better match than people expected. It was the first time where people thought "Hey maybe Tomko doesn't suck"

Abyss vs. Judas Messias: Barbedwire Massacre from AGA08 - A good one to close with considering the last Best of Bloodiest Brawls closed with the 1st Barbedwire Massacre. Its not as memorable as the 1st one, but I think its a better match in the technical sense (more psychology and logical spots and such)

Good list, its just unfortunately I already have most of them on other DVDs.

Finally saw AJ|Angle from Hard Justice. Much, much better than Slammi or any of their other matches. I give it ****1/4+. Definitely TNA MOTY so far imo

Meltzer's latest TNA ratings (Since Victory Road)

Quote:
7/24/08 AJ Styles/Rhino/Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle/Brother Ray/Brother Devon (Tables Elimination) ***1/4
8/10/08 Consequences Creed vs. Petey Williams ***1/4
8/10/08 Taylor Wilde/Gail Kim/ODB vs. Angelina Love/Velvet Sky/Awesome Kong ***
8/10/08 Homicide/Herandez vs. James Storm/Robert Roode ***1/2
8/10/08 Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles (Last Man Standing) ****1/4
I agree with all of them pretty much, cept I woulda bumped AJ/Angle to ****1/2 and I woulda given the No DQ tag from HJ atleast *** as well.

Oh and so what about joe's/Daniels/Abyss's dvds???

No problem dude.

I don't have the Joe, Abyss, or Daniels DVD.

Looking over the material though, I can say that they look good. I have been told that alot of the matches on the Daniels DVD are not in full, but I can't say for sure.

As for BFG 2005, its a really good show. Going into it, TNA had just gotten onto SpikeTV and gained a new audience, so this PPV was more of a gigantic infomercial as opposed to being the "season finale" that it is now, or that Wrestlemania is for the WWE these days.

That's not a bad thing, as they basically just picked and choosed matches that they knew new fans would probably like because they had done them before and fans really liked them or just thought it'd be cool to do (Jarrett/Nash, AJ/Daniels, AMW/Nats, Ultimate X, Monster's Ball, & Joe/Liger)

On the DVD, the Preshow is included, and the first match is the X Division 4 Way of Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, Alex Shelley, & Sonjay Dutt. Now many people said this was a MOTY candidate. I wouldn't go that far, but if you're a fan of X Division action, then check it out cause its pretty cool.

Getting to the actual PPV, 1st match was Joe vs. Liger, an International X Division showdown that was treated as a grand event with Joe using the Samoan Dancers in his entrance for the first time, and Liger getting the streamers like he does in Japan. Really solid and fun opener here with good action from both men.

Next up was a filler match. Diamonds in the Rough taking on Apolo, Sonny Siaki, & Shark Boy. For a filler match, it was decent enough. Not offensive anyways. But you could skip it and not feel like you missed anything.

Monty Brown vs. Lance Hoyt was a very good power match. It was kind of short, but I'd describe it as "Short but AWESOME" It was a really cool match.

3LK vs. Team Canada was decent for a 3LK match. That's pretty much all there is to say.

Petey Williams vs. Chris Sabin vs. Michael Shane in Ultimate X was really good...up until the finish. I won't give it away, but they didn't handle the situation all that well.

AMW vs. The Naturals for the tag titles was a good tag team match. If you want to see these two teams at their best, check out Hard Justice 2005, but for what its worth, this was a really good match.

Rhino vs. Abyss vs. Hardy vs. Sabu in Monster's Ball was fucking insane. It was a hardcore spotfest with about as much psychology & logic as Arkham Asylum, but this was a very intense and highly entertaining match if nothing else.

MOTN was up next as AJ Styles took on Christopher Daniels in Ironman II. For 30 Minutes, these two put on yet another excellent match to add to their series. I like the 1st one more, but this one was very good in its own right. Awesome match.

Gauntlet for the Gold - Now the original main event was supposed to be Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash, but Nash had to pull out for Medical reasons. So they decided to take 10 TNA superstars, most of which had already wrestled that night, and had them compete in a Gauntlet with the winner taking on Jeff Jarrett in the main event. Now the whole situation didn't make for any 5 star matches or anything, but the whole thing was so well booked and exciting that it really capped off the PPV with a huge bang. Once again, I don't want to give anything away, but the whole thing made for an excellent way to close the show.

BFG 05 (From what I remember)

Dutt/Aries/Shelley/Strong-**** (One of my personal favorite matches tho)
Joe/Liger-***
Diamonds/Apolo & Siaki & Sharkboy-**1/4
Monty/Hoyt-**1/2-**3/4
3LK/Team Canada-*1/2
Ultimate X-***1/4 (Even with the botches, could've been alot higher tho)
AMW/Naturals-***
Monsters Ball-****1/4
AJ/Daniels-****-****1/2 (My rating changes very frequently on this one)
Gauntlet-**1/4
Jarrett/Rhino-**

If it had a better main event, it would've been alot more of a well rounded show. I still love it tho, 6 ***+ matches is nothing to sneeze at but there's also alot on the card that is forgettable.
