Yeah I know its a little late

Here's my final ratings for Slammiversary 2006 after watching it again

The James Gang vs. Team 3D **3/4

This match was lots of fun and was a great way to open the show! While not anything really special it was an above average brawl that the crowd was really into

Rhino vs. Bobby Roode and Scott D'Amore **1/4

Again this match was alot of fun! It seemed like a good mix of a comedy match and a normal match, as much sense as that makes. Who knew Scotty could wrestle he looked very solid out there and I wish we could have seen more from him

Senshi vs. Petey Williams vs. Shark Boy vs. Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Alex Shelley ***3/4

I know in my rating earlier I gave it ***1/2 but after watching it again I felt like I underrated it, this match was just awesome! Great action some great mat wrestling and nice spots made this match a winner. I agree with what others have said and that is Shelley was brilliant in this one!

Kevin Nash vs. Chris Sabin

This was a good underdog style match with Sabin trying to prove the X guys can hang with guys like Nash. Nots of involvment from Shelley didn't hurt this match and it ended up being solid all the way through. Still doesn't change the fact that Nash needed to be carried but I think Sabin did a good job.

America's Most Wanted vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels for the NWA World Tag Team Championship ****1/4

WOW!! What a tag team match this was! Companies today need to take notes from matches like this, tag team excellence was what this match was. So much non-stop action and lots of momentum changes, I was kept on the edge of my seat. Great match with a great ending where AJ hit a wicked frog splash followed by a BME from Daniels. MOTYC

Scott Steiner vs. Samoa Joe ***1/2

Very good is about all that needs to be said for this match. It wasn't anything truely great but both men sure delivered a fine performance that lived up to the great build-up. This match had a little of everything including mat/technical wrestling, brawling and some good storytelling. Scott Steiner's best singles match in years.

Christian Cage vs. Sting vs. Ron Killings vs. Abyss vs. Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a King of the Mountain match ***1/2

Definately a good match and main event where everybody got a chance to shine and hurt a spot or two. Many people say the 2005 KOTM was the worst but I'd give that title to this one, in fact out of the KOTM matches I've seen I'd say 2007>2008>2005>2006. But still a very good match kind of hurt by the dirty finish and the start of another Jarrett reign.

What a PPV this goes to shw ya how underrated TNA's 2006 was. Most people would say 2005 was the best year, and match-wise it was, but this 2006 had an all around better product IMO and that's reflected very well on this show featuring great wrestling and entertainment.

Overall: 8.5/10

Truely a show to watch out for

Genesis 07 was a great PPV too tbh. I ranked it as my 3rd PPV of 2007. Just behind sacrifice and BFG. Genesis 2006 was great as well. I haven't seen the complete 2005 PPV, but it what I saw was very good. Genesis and Victory Road are two little PPV's which always diliver. Just like Hard Justice is always doomed to suck.

TNA Victory Road 2008 Ratings/Thoughts

12 Man World X Cup Elimination Tag Match

****1/2

An absolute blaster of an opener, action packed. Yoshino and Shelley were perfect as the last two combatants. This was the best opener of 2008 for any wrestling company. Whole some of the spots could of been better, i thought this was a fantastic showing from TNA.

Gail Kim vs Angelina Love

**

The only problem i had was that Angelina Love should of won to continue the feud and that the match should of went a tad bit longer. Good for what it was, This is way better than an Average WWE Diva Match.

Jay Lethal vs Sonjay Dutt

**3/4

I much proffered the Genesis encounter a while ago, while this match was ok.. It was mainly focused on Val and not the actual feud between the two former mates. All i can say it Sonjay wasnt showcased well enough during this encounter, hopefully if this feud makes it to Bound For Glory, they can have a **** match.

Awesome Kong vs Taylor Wilde

**

This was a great showing from both Divas, loved the spot where Taylor arm dragged Kong off the top rope. It was good to let Taylor keep the title. Solid match. Once again better than a Diva match

Beer Money vs LAX

***

While i enjoyed this more than others, i would of liked to see more Hernandez and more usage of the Lumberjack style match. This should of went on longer, but it was pretty good for what it was. Props for James and Robert for taking those vicious strap shots.

Ultimate X

***1/4

This was a great addition to an already stacked card, the spot with the leg drop was freaking insane, and the Mexican wrestler, is brilliant. Good showing from TNA but this needed a couple more big spots and maybe an extra 3 minutes or so. This was nearly great.

Full Metal Mayhem

****

Fucking sweet match up here, Christians leap from the top was incredible, Angle, Olympic Slamming AJ Through the table was too. There were also heaps of other good moments, but i would of liked to see more Rhino. This was a great match second best of the night.. The finish was A+

Booker T vs Samoa Joe

***1/4 - ***1/2

Let me be the first to say, i actually liked the finish. It shows out Joes true dominance. Second of all this was an old school type match up and it was good for what it was. It was built up like crazy (Unlike WWE's Mainevents) and im going to have to say it delivered. I liked the idea of Sting coming out and trying to resolve the situation, but i didnt like when Sharmell did the pin count for Booker. Never the less this was a pretty good encounter, cant wait to see what else these 2 bring to the table

--

Victory Road is the best PPV showing from TNA all year. With4 or 5 ***+ Matches im very happy with this ppv.

8.5/10

Great showing TNA!

Victory Road (2006)

1.) The Naturals vs. The Diamonds in the Rough - *3/4
Short forgettable opener. Not terrible though.

2.) Rhino vs Monty Brown - **
This started off so promising. You had the Pounce vs The Gore which was really interesting. They started brawling uncontrollably in the stands and the ref, who'd felt the Gore and the Pounce earlier couldn't get up. The match was called a no contest. Disappointing ending to a promising match.

3.) LAX vs. Killings/Dutt - ***1/2
Great tag match between these 2 teams. Killings was really impressive as was the Man Beast Hernandez who delivered an unreal looking Border toss to poor Sonjay. Crowd was really into this one.

4.) Senshi vs. Kazarian - **1/2
Expected a much better match between these two. They just seemed to be going through the motions and Kaz was showing a little ring rust. Pacing problems throughout. Not horrible but just not what I anticipated.

5.) Hair vs. Hair – Raven vs. Larry Zbyszko - 1/4*
Yikes this was complete shit. Definitely skip this one.

6.) Sabin/Lethal vs Nash/Shelly - **3/4
Pretty good match, the real treat was seeing the Sabin/Shelly interaction which was awesome. Nash had some trouble keeping up and it made for some awkward moments, but a nice match here.

7.) Team 3D vs. The James Gang/Abyss - **1/2

An alright brawl type of match. Brother Ray does a great job getting the crowd involved and while the beginning was pretty good it kind of tapered off as the match wore on. Ray got in a dig on ECW as he stapled (after a few failed attempts) a paper reading ECW fears TNA on Abyss's poor head.

8.) NWA titles - AJ/Daniels/Sirelda vs AMW/Kim - **3/4
Why this was for the title when the woman were involved is beyond me. After their last 2 great matches this one certainly didn't live up to the hype. Sirelda is just completely horrible in this. Kim had some great moments though. Funny yet weird spot where Kim was in a sexually suggestive pose in between Storm and Harris. I got a chuckle out of that. But the match was a letdown.

9.) #1 Contender 4 way - Sting vs Cage vs Joe vs Steiner - ***
An pretty good main event. JJ comes out early and takes Sting out by shooting Gasoline into his eyes. I'm sure the crowd were happy to see Sting out of the mix... Pretty much a triple threat from then on. Action was a bit too slow for my liking but there were some nice moments. Sting comes out towards the end with his face all bandaged up and gets the win and title shot, even though he probably only wrestled a total of 3-4 minutes....

Overall: Bad bad show, probably the worst TNA ppv I've seen so far. (Maybe slightly ahead of DX 05) Some of the matches I thought were going to be great didn't live up to expectations. Sadly the Lax vs Dutt/Killings match was MOTN at ***1/2 just shows how bad the quality was for this one.

Extra stuff: Team Canada disbanded on the show. D'amore gave a great performance as he touted the individuals talents and future prospects. All except EY who he berated in front of the Impact Zone. He was over BIG TIME with the fans.

Also Steiner does his infamous "Canada is Mexico North" promo. LOL Gotta love Scotty.

Nice review Styles, that show has to be one of the most forgotten TNA PPV's of all time. (And for good reason)

LOL at Steiner's comment tho, hilarious stuff.

I think I might start doing reviews for every Ultimate X match one by one starting either tomorrow night or Thursday. It'll more likely be Thursday as I'll probably be really tired once I get home from class. Look out for those.

Looking forward to it Chiller. It'll be tough for anything to beat the Final Resolution 05 UX match.

Just watched the first UX match for the first time, and it's a decent match. Couple cool spots here and there, but the flow gets ruined when the belt falls off the wire not once, but twice. There's also a couple bad botches. I'll get further into this match once I start doing my UX reviews.
