Need some help folks. I can pick up the following lot for $45 and wanted to know if it's worth it.

-Global Impact Japan
-Sacrifice 2008
-Best of 2007
-History of TNA Year 1
-50 Greatest Moments

There's also a ROH DVD included in the lot. Also, are there any special features on the 50 Greatest Moments?

I only have '50 greatest moments' on copy but for someone who didn't watch TNA in the early years I would say it's very interesting.

The only DVDs I have from the list are Global Impact Japan & History of TNA: Year One

The Global Impact DVD is great, and definately one of TNA's best releases. I highly recommend that one. The set up is great and the matches are really cool too.

The Year One DVD was great too, largely for the documentary. It was just very interesting to see everybody talking about what went on in TNA during that first year. We get comments from Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, and many of the wrestlers who were there in that first year, and alot of what was said was very interesting. They included the biggest matches from the first year as well which would be Jarrett/Raven, 1st X Title Match, Triple Ladder Match, and AMW/New Church, so if you don't already have those, the DVD is worth it because those are classics.

EDIT: And Sacrifice 2008 was a fun and solid PPV. So if you get together with the others for $45, why not?

I have only seen the Angle/Nagata match from the Global Impact DVD. **** I heard the rest of the card was pretty solid-great.

Sacrifice 08 was nothing special tbh. 7 tag matches is a bit much, most of them Impact quality. Main event was solid, but Angle's injury was a big letdown. Terrordome was MOTN: ****

History of TNA: Year 1: Haven't seen it yet, but I heard Jeff Jarrett didn't told the truth about his dad.

50 Greatest Moments: Absolutely a great DVD set. Atm the DVD is no longer up-to-date, but there are a lot of special moments from the early years.

Well I would say it might be worth it depending on your 07 TNA DVD collection primarily.

Global Impact has a great documentary piece following all the guys around Japan and has been pretty much acclaimed universarlly, the card is solid and I for one like the Angle/Nagat match eve tho some don't.(The opening 6 man match is very good too, probably like ***1/4 or so.)

Sacrifice 08 is the worst TNA PPV of 08 so far but it isn't horrible, Joe/Kaz/Steiner, Terrordome and 3D/LAX are all good matches.(But it's not a must own)

Well Best of 07 depends on what you own, I for one passed since I have Genesis and BFG and that's 3 of the 7 matches right there. I didn't care for Elevation X or the Joe/Angle IV match, so then I just decided by getting Sacrifice and Slammi I'd get the other 2 matches I didn't have. So if you have Sacrifice, Slammi, BFG, and Genesis then you really don't need this DVD.

History Of TNA Year 1 has a solid doc and some great rare matches. The double elim being tops, but the 3 way ladder match is great and Raven/Jarrett is exactly what you think it would be.

Can't really comment on the 50 moments DVD, it doesn't have any matches but I'm sure it could be enjoyable.

It's not a bad price plus the ROH DVD your getting. (I'd say the Best of 07 DVD is the one that really tips the scale one way or the other, if you have all or most of those PPV's then you don't need this release and thus makes the whole alot less appealing)

AGA - 06 was better. Outside of Nash/Jarrett & AJ/Daniels, 05 didn't have much while AGA had really good tag matches, AJ/Daniels/Joe II, Rhino/Abyss, and a very strong main event in Christian/Jarrett

DZ - DX05 is my pick for worst TNA PPV of all time. So yeah, 06 was better.

LD - 06 was better IMO. The double main event just made that show for me, but you can aruge either way.

May PPV HJ05 & Sacrifice 06 - Sac06 gets my pick. HJ was pretty good though.

Slammy - 06 was WAY better.

July PPV No Surrender 05 and Victory Road 06 - No Surrender 05 was 10 times better.

Auguest PPV Sacrifice 05 & HJ 06 - Whoa I didn't realize they switched both shows exactly. Oh well, HJ had some of the life sucked out of it because of the fire, and Sacrifice had that awesome Lynn/Waltman match I love so much, so Sacrifice gets the nod here.

September PPV Unbreakable & No Surrender 06 - Unbreakalbke just because of that awesome main event.

BFG - 2006 by far. That show was great.

Genesis - 2006 without a doubt for me. That card was loaded with TNA dream matches.

TP - 2005 gets my pick here. That card was stacked.

So out of 12 ppvs comparrisons, I have 2006 winning out 7 to 5, but alot of them were close.

2006 was my favorite year overall though, especially the first half because that was when everything just clicked.
Agreed 100%! The first half of 2006 TNA was at its all time best all around product. The feuds, the storylines, matches and PPVs were all great. And Christian finally winning a world title was the icing on the cake for me.

Christian cage vs. Jeff Jarrett for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship- Against All Odds 2006
***1/2

Very good match with Jarrett playing the hateable (is that a word?) heel and Christian the extremely over babyface. The crowd rushing the ring to help Christian celebrate is easily one of the greatest moments in the company's history

Genesis 05 was great, you had a great X-title match, Elimination X, CC's debut, a six man war, and your standard Abyss/Sabu match now featuring some barbedwire, and also I believe Hardy's last TNA match

Unfortunately, Gen05 happened the same day Eddie passes away, so while I watched it, to be honest, I wasn't really into it, and the only things that really stuck out were CC's debut and the beating Joe gave Daniels.

However, I picked up Best of AJ Vol. 2 a few months back and the AJ/Petey match was really good.
