Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

2007 PPV's

1. BFG
2. Sacrifice(It's a better all around wrestling show, but BFG was more entertaining and a better combo of both)
3. No Surrender(5 matches at ***1/2+ is pretty great)
4. Genesis(Very underrated)
5. Slammiversary(Just wish some matches got more time)
6. Final Resolution(Same as Genesis, couple of things weren't great tho)
7. Victory Road(Really entertaining show, just too many tag matches)
8. Destination X
9. Lockdown(Having the 2 bombs really hurts it, otherwise it would easily be top 5 IMO)
10.AAO
11.Hard Justice(Atleast Joe/Angle and the 3 way tag were good)
12.Turning Point

10-12 are very interchangeable and any of the 3 could go into any slot. Definitely the 3 worst of 07.

For 08 so far;

1. Lockdown(Slight bias as I was there live, but the 2 big matches owned)
2. Slammiversary
3. AAO
4. Destination X
5. Final Resolution
6. Sacrifice

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Victory Road 2007 is DEFINITELY an underrated PPV. Honestly, Team 3D/Joe & Angle is one of the best TNA tag matches ever...amazing storytelling, hugely entertaining...just a fantastic match.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Final Resolution (2006)

1.) Shelley/Aries/Strong vs. Bentley/Sabin/Dutt - ***1/4
Great opening bout here. Nice double and triple teaming by both teams. Don't really enjoy quick roll up victories but the overall match made up for it.

2.) James Gang vs Skipper/Young - **
Your average tag match here not really interested in either team really.

3.) AJ Styles vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi - ***
This sure wasn't as epic as I would've imagined and this years match between the 2 completely blows this one out of the water. With all that said it was still a pretty good match, but the ending with Shannon Moore took alot away from it.

4.) Raven vs. Sean Waltman - **

A nice hardcore brawl, there was this funny spot where Raven was supposed to toss Waltman in a shopping cart off the ramp but Waltman fell off too soon landing ass first on the ramp and tumbling down after the cart lol. The ending with the screwjob finish was terrible. I sense a theme building here...

5.) Ron Killings vs. Bobby Roode - **1/4

Not a bad match, a little dull at times but it was decent. The ending once again with Konnan inadvertently costing Killings was lame.

6. Rhino vs. Abyss - **3/4
Another average brawl type match. More outside interference from Mitchell. I don't get why he needs to distract the ref for Abyss to use the chair when the chair was already in use earlier. But Anyway, good power vs power matchup.

7.) Tag titles - AMW vs Team3d - **1/2
Really liked the way this was going until...Yes you guessed it the ending ruined another match. It was such a contrived and overly stupid decision that it just boggles my mind to imagine what they were thinking when they decided that's how this should end...

8.) X Title - Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels - ****
Finally a great match. The start was insanely quick. They did this really cool spot where Joe reverses a powerbomb into a Hurra and then Lariats the shit out of Daniels. Very intense from beginning to end. The finish where Aj throws the towel in I actually don't have a problem with because Joe really was just dismantling Daniels and he looked legit hurt. Those Knees by Joe at the end were brutal!

9.) Sting/Cage vs. Jarrett/Brown - ***1/2
Really fun tag match and a great return to the ring for the Icon. The crowd was just completely behind the faces in this one. It had this really cool old school feel to it which I liked. Sting showed no ring rust what so ever. Nice ending as Cage allowed Sting to have the spotlight.

Overall: A good ppv, Joe/Daniels was great and there were plenty of ***+ or close to it matches. The ppv overall suffered from terrible endings though. I could take 1-2 bad finishes put damn near the whole card was plagued with them.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

3D/AMW was pretty great until the utterly horrible finish, of all the bad finishes I can think of that's probably the worst one.

Oh wait, the finish to AJ/Tana was just as bad. It is a solid show with some good matches, but just too many screwy endings all over the place.

I think the Joe/Daniels match from Impact is actually better than the FR one.(Even thought it's not complete)

And I agree about the 3D vs Angle/Joe tag, that match is very underrated. Hot crowd, great storytelling, and just a formula of tag wrestling that works very well. Plus so much was on the line, probably atleast the most underrated TNA match of 07.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I'd put up Angle & Joe vs. Team 3D as Team 3D's best match last year. Well, that is not including the tag match against the Guns they did at Genesis. Since I say that one was pretty good also.

Agree with Taroostyles list for where I would rank 2007 shows myself, btw.

That is besides where he places Against All Odds at. Since I truly thought it sucked ass, I would of had it at the bottom.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

Yeah I probably would put AAO right at the bottom now that I think about it, that and Turning Point were both really bad.

Hard Justice had atleast a few good matches, but it still wasn't much better. I also would actually probably swap FR and VR now that I think about it, think I enjoyed VR a little bit more.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

I haven't seen Final Resolution 2006 in a long time, but I remember not liking a lot of the finishes either.

- The ending to AJ/Tanahashi made AJ look like a heel
- The ending to AMW vs. Team 3D was the most brainless thing I have ever seen. If the ref can't see then how was he able to count the pin in the first place?

Joe vs. Daniels was pretty good, but their Impact match later in the year was WAY better. Is that match on any Best of DVDs? I definately want to see that one again.

The main reason to pick up FR2006 is for Sting's return which was simply put, amazing! That was brilliantly done.

Another great review AJ!

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

The Joe/Daniels match from Impact is on the X division vol. 2 DVD, except it's not in it's entirely since well that's the same way it aired. Even without it being complete I still think it's ****1/4 or so and better than the FR match slightly.(**** for the FR match IMO.)

Yea AJ that second AJ/Tana match is very good, I agree with the **** rating.

Re: Official TNA DVD Help/Discussion/Review Thread

^^^ It was actually kind of better that it started in progress. It started the show with an instant bang.
