Re: Official PPV Card Prediction/Dream Card Thread
Ah what the heck, I'm going to make up my own card for Bound for Glory now. Let's see if they actually go this route. Of course this card is made based on where they seem to be going with things now and under the assumption that no new names or big stars are coming in.
TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
"The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe (c) vs. "The Icon" Sting
- I think its obvious Joe is going to win the title at Lockdown, and as I was thinking about possible contenders for him to face, I thought who better than Sting? He's already faced and defeated both Angle & Christian, and Booker isn't as big as Sting is IMO. It would also be big because its essentially the two top faces in TNA, and Sting is undefeated in Bound for Glory main events, so it would make for an interesting dynamic. It could also be Sting's last match if they wanted to go that route. I would give the win to Samoa Joe, and the show would close with Sting and Joe congratulating each other and Sting saying his final goodbyes.
GRUDGE MATCH
"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle w/Karen Angle
- I've thought about how this whole feud should play out. Karen sides with AJ at some point, and then later on she turns on him and alligns with Kurt again. This sets up the demise of the Angle Alliance, and AJ wanting to get his revenge on the Angles, turning him face once again. I do think this match is going to happen at some point this year, and there would be no better place to have it than Bound for Glory. I would prefer it if AJ Styles went over, but the way I have it worked out, it could go either way.
MONSTER'S BALL V
"The War Machine" Rhino vs. "The Monster" Abyss vs. Tomko vs. Matt Morgan
- They do this match every year so why not? But I hope they make the match mean more this year as last year it was treated as kind of a filler match. I'm not saying it was a bad match, but it didn't really have any more impact on anything storyline wise except for the fact that Abyss one. When Monty, Rhino, & Joe won their Monster's Balls, it led to World Title shots and big matches with big names. So my idea would be to make the winner of this year's Monster's Ball the Number One Contender for the title at Genesis. And I would probably give the win to Tomko.
GRUDGE MATCH
"The Instant Classic" Christian Cage vs. Robert Roode w/Payton Banks
- I think it would be cool if this year, Christian found himself dealing with an unbearable prick, as usually at Bound for Glory that is the role that Christian plays. I would like to see Christian work a good feud with one of the up and coming heels like Storm & Roode, and I think Roode & Christian can do some great stuff together on the mike and in the ring. If I were booking, I'd probably have Roode cheat to a victory.
X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP ULTIMATE X MATCH
Christopher Daniels (c) vs. Kaz vs. "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal vs. Sonjay Dutt
- Here's how I would work this. Number 1, Dutt tuns heel on Lethal and finds some way to screw him out of the title (lets say Petey beat him). Their feud continues on while Curry Man gets into the X Division title picture and gets a title shot against Petey. Curry Man wins the title and then unmasks, claiming that he had to sink to some great lows to get back his X Division title by being a dancing fool, but now he is once again the King of the X Division and TNA can't do anything about. He defends the title against Kaz, who has recently stepped back into the X Division, and wins the match at No Surrender. Dutt also defeats Lethal at that PPV and claims he should be the number one contender to the X Title. However, Lethal has unsettled business with Dutt, and Kaz demands a rematch with Daniels and starts working against Lethal & Dutt to get his title shot. It is then decided that all four men will wrestle for the X Division title in an Ultimate X Match at Bound for Glory. I would give the win to Kaz.
TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Latin American Xchange (c) w/Salinas vs. The Motor City Machine Guns
- LAX defeats Tomko & AJ Styles for the tag team titles. LAX then goes on to dominate the division until The Guns decide that they've had enough and are tired of being over looked. Sabin & Shelley start sneak attacking LAX after their matches and eventually LAX grant them a title match in order to exact some revenge. Either team could win this one and I'd be fine with it. But if they ever do this match, I think one of the teams needs to go heel.
TNA KNOCKOUT CHAMPIONSHIP: LAST CHANCE FOR GAIL KIM
Awesome Kong (c) vs. Gail Kim
- Kong continues her dominant reign as champion, even adding Rhaka Khan, Roxxie Laveaux, and various others to her list of victims. In the mean time, Gail Kim has matches with Raisha Saeed. Gail Kim defeats Saeed in match that grants the winner Number One Contendership, and Gail gets one last chance against Kong. Saeed works it into the contract for the match that if Gail does not defeat Kong, she will never get another shot at the TNA Knockout's Title. The match takes place at Bound for Glory, and Gail is finally able to take down the juggernaut and win back the title she won a year prior.
FIGHT FOR THE RIGHT BATTLE ROYAL
Booker T w/Sharmell, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner w/Rhaka Khan, Petey Williams, "Cowboy" James Storm w/Jackie Moore, "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash, Johnny Devine, "Showtime" Eric Young, Shark Boy, Consequences Creed, Lance Hoyt w/Christy Hemme, Jimmy Rave, Kip James, "Primetime" Elix Skipper, Black Reign, Rellik
- They do this match every year, and I wouldn't mind seeing something like this on BFG, and it would seem more important if they involved big names like Nash, Booker, & Steiner. Now if I were booking this match, I would elminate the Reverse Battle Royal Portion without question. But I do like the idea of the match being in stages, so here's how I'd do it.
The match starts off as a regular Battle Royal. When it comes down to 8, it turns into a match similar to the CW open from Wrestlemania XX or the first X Title Match (2 at a time, a new one comes in at each elimination) And then of course it ends with a one on one match, with the winner being the top seeded in the Tournament. I'd give the win to Booker T, with the tournament finals concluding at Genesis. Other 7 I'd have get in are Storm, Young, Steiner, Williams, Creed, Nash, & Rellik.
TNA KNOCKOUT'S SIX WOMEN TAG
O.D.B., Traci Brooks, & "The Voodoo Queen" Roxxy Laveaux vs. Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, & "The Pride of Tennessee" Jackie Moore
- Just for the sake of getting almost everybody on the card, why not have a match like this?
