Signing guys because they're cheap and being broke are two totally different things.
Glad TNA is giving shine to these guys, if this reboot happens then this could end being great in the long run. TNA needs talent that identifies them as TNA, not WWE/ECW/WCW lite. That shit was played out years ago, and should have ended after MEM, because it was really the only thing that made it work.
Caleb Konley was decent from what I saw on Paragon. But, as I've said elsewhere, the tag team from Paragon called The Whirlwind Gentlemen would have been a better signing. TNA needs tag teams!!! Either way, I'm glad to see new signings. It's a positive sign.
Considering the number of TNA guys NXT has signed over last year or so you should be happy. A better metaphor is going from a traveling baseball team to a AAA, ok maybe a AA, team with hopes of making the big leagues in a couple years.
One thing I will say good about TNA this year is that they are signing smart. The likes of Mike Bennett, Maria, and now others like Cherry Bomb, Allysin Kay, and Caleb Konley. TNA doesn't have a good history of signings that they needed. For every Sting, there was a Randy Savage. For every Kurt Angle, there was a Booker T. For every Team 3D, there was a Nasty Boys.
With 2016, they have been able to sign talent that they either see potential on or are new/fresh talent they can mold into something (whether or not by force from their strained financials and position as a company). As long as TNA realizes that the era of signing "former stars and big names from other companies of the past" is officially over and done for them, they are making correct steps int0 the right direction.
Re: TNA to announce more signings and re-signings (BRAM LOL?!) over the coming days
Well if they are signing new people that's good, at least there's going to be continuity towards the right direction somehow. I do feel like they should have done this consistently years ago, instead of relying on older talent who had a cup of coffee or two then left. But hey, at least there's some positive news there. I still feel bad for TNA losing Roode and Young tho...
Re: TNA to announce more signings and re-signings (BRAM LOL?!) over the coming days
Signing guys on pay per Appearance deals is costing them nothing, they won't be paying a downside on these guys but it does get a few positive headlines and helps give off the impression they're not cash strapped.
Good picks up so far though, however I can't help think that now of all times TNA needs to make a major acquisition to draw some eyeballs into the product and create some buzz

This is TNA's current roster, 40 talents in total(29 Male, 11 Female). Such a different roster compared to just a few years ago but it has potential. TNA just needs to book these talents correctly(easier said then done). Hopefully they get this takeover deal done so we can see what this roster has to fully offer.
Re: TNA to announce more signings and re-signings (BRAM LOL?!) over the coming days
TNA need to build their own. Everyone talks about "TNA guys" like AJ, Roode, EY etc. leaving. TNA now have to make some new "TNA guys".. I'm looking at you EC3, Drew Galloway, Mike Bennett, Pepper Parks...
