Billy Corgan as heel authority figure?

The first thing is.. does TNA (and wrestling) need another heel authority fegure? Not right now, but it can be good if done right, look at Dario Cueto or Catrina.

Why Corgan? He is a celebrity and he loves wrestling and he works for TNA.
He is responsible for some good stuff lately, yet all heels related.

- The Dolhouse - not his fault that Taryn found Jesus, prior that it was a cool stable with sexy leader and cool theme song.
- EY vs. Melendes - probably best thing TNA did with Melendes. He is a one legged guy and his in ring abilities are limitted, so I'm not shitting on TNA for not using him too often, but that particular feud was his best.
- Decay.

It seems to me that Billy is interested in wrestling and in TNAs success and he's good at booking edgy angles and characters. So why not? TNA may receive a big celebrity weekly on their TV doing something entertaining.

And who knows, maybe TNA already working on the plan. Someone did send Raquel.

No. No! NO!

Enough with the heel authority figures. Its long played out. Cuerto only works for LU because it's only an hour a week and its not overbearing. Just put on a great product without having that type of anchor.

So, his best ideas are The Dollhouse who aren't really that exciting at all and a story line that revolved around two men fighting each other for a prosthetic leg...

And the idea is because these ideas were so great (Which they were not) that we should put him on screen as an authority figure despite the fact he's a terrible promo and admits that he is a terrible promo.

Also, a "big celebrity" is Brad Pitt. Billy Corgan is like a B-List music celebrity.

TNA have done the heel boss and the Heel stable takes over the company too. They need to go at least 5 years without either of those angles.

Also Corgan wouldn't work anyway, because he has no promo/acting experience. All the good heel bosses either worked on a microphone for years, like Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff or are trained actors like Cueto. Bringing in someone would none of those skills as a heel boss would be terrible.

To be fair i think Corgan (unlike Dixie) knows he wouldn't be very good on tv, the speach he made to the fans in mancester was just a quick "Thanks for comeing, we're busting are ass and you make it worth while" so no need to worry bout him turning heel... p.s No more heel authority figures, if you must have a figure why nnot a babyface one, and keep him/her that way for a change?

nope not realy, dixie recognised as owner and of haveing the power to fire people but thankfully she rarely on tv nowadays. i do think its best without authority figures, heel ones perticuly are overplayed and create a majour flaw: why would anyone work for such a twat of a boss and make them money only to be screwed? Even in wrestling it makes no sence lol

No. No. And Fuck No. Another "heel authority figure" or even another "authority figure" in general is the last thing any pro wrestling show needs for the next decade, let a lone TNA.

I think if TNA were going to do the authority figure again you just have a tweener. Not a guy who sides with the faces, not a guy who sides with the heels just a guy who cuts everything down the middle and is fair.

And also, no wacky heel turn, no feuding with wrestlers. Nothing stupid.

Good God no. Pro wrestling needs to do away with authority figures. It's been done, re-done , tweaked and done again. That role should just die. It's all the same - the person starts off as a face, gets stressed out with wrestlers making demands , then turns heel. Or the person starts heel, helps all of the villains then turns face. I'd rather see more managers in TNA, than some person to do ANOTHER authority, person in charge role.

:ti Yea, lets have the lead singer of the smashing pumpkins as the on air authority figure of a wrestling show.

That will work.

Look, either reduce the role of these authority figures and go back to the wrestlers running the shows or find a really fucking good one.

Don't waste your time on average authority figures. They aren't worth the screen time. Either they are up to the standard (like Dario Cueto in LU) or go in another direction.

When a 'rockstar' who can't cut a promo becomes your on air authority figure you are killing your company.

I'd say no. Keep Corgan off TV. He's doing great behind the scenes with character development. I'd give him a little more control with videos, Ring Entrances and character development. Being the ex lead singer for the smashing pumpkins. I'm sure he would have some great ideas with ring entrances using pyro effects. I'd start doing vignette again when bringing new wrestlers to TNA. Corgan background could help here a lot building these vignette and giving these new comers a back story.
