While Jim Ross shot down the rumors of his involvement with TNA, Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the company has been in talks with announcers recently.

Wonder where this leaves Josh or Pope? An improvement anyway.

Taz was just terrible, Josh is bad too. My money is on Striker. Nothing against Mike Tenay, but his time is passed. They need somebody fresh and new.

Taz wasn't bad. Perhaps you didn't like him but in terms of broadcasting he's good and he should be considering he's been doing it for about 15 years.

Yeah. But I don't see anyone good available for the job. Maybe Todd Keneley?
TNA has 2 guys under contract to replace Matthews (Borash and Tenay) and out there in the free agent pool you have Todd Kenely who I've always liked. A lot of those WWE guys who used to do the lesser shows are available as well and they're usually professionally trained broadcasters which could be a problem for TNA because they'd be competing with Radio and TV to get these guys.

Tony Schiavone please!
Apparently making six figures doing radio.

I do like the Pope announcing but I'd like to see him wrestle, I always said once TNA do a live show he will get involved in a match and that would be his way back into the ring and at BFG when his music hit I was buzzing but then he eliminated himself I was gutted haha! Mathews isn't that bad in my opinion but I'd like him to either play a heel or a face not both, pick one and stick to it. As to who I'd have if they were to both go, I'd go for Tod Kennley and one of Striker or Nash if he isn't to expensive.

The problem with Taz was he would ramble too much and bury his good stuff in a pile of bad. If he learned to pick and choose when to add to the product he would have been pretty good. As far as Striker, not sure if he would leave LU but he would be solid no doubt.

Josh Mathews is just another Cole, and Cole is the biggest douche in the world.

Matt Striker was WWE's best side ring commentator of the 21st century. But Lucha Underground was smart enough to get him.

Matt and Josh have too much of that "fanboy" feel. I also just don't feel Pope actually cares about wrestling.

I find Striker pretty annoying sometime. I watched the GFW-produced Japanese show and wasn't impressed.

I don't think Mathews is that bad at communicating and Pope is getting better but Mathews just has an horrible voice for PBP and most of the time loses his voice by the end of the show. They could just use Mathews as a third man like Tenay was used in WCW and the former TNA guy Todd Kenely as the voice. I thought he was the best TNA ever had.

Yea Josh and Pope have to go now. They are reading my mind. I was thinking that Kim losing busted my bracket and Josh makes comment about that. Then later Josh talking about the carcass of Richards and I thought he is not a carcass and Pope said it. Damn you guys, get out of my head.

Kid Kash is retired now, and he is good on the mic. They could ask him to come back as the color commentator, and have Pope wrestle full time.
