In a vacuum I'd fully believe them if they said safety concerns. But given their track record with recent cancellation dates and the vagueness of why they cancelled them I can understand if some people think it's something else. So I guess the semi-finals will just be on the first show on Pop then.
They had to stop off in Paris to get to India, Paris is still in a state of emergency at the command of President Hollande. Plus there is trouble in the middle east where they have to go through to get to India.
state of emergency doesn't effect planes arriving and leaving france. air-travel has not been affected.
i flew that route (to south east asia) just recently via zurich and the only places commercial airlines are avoiding is eastern ukraine..we actually flew over turkey, middle east, india when it would have been quicker flying over eastern ukraine
india has been a notorious hard sell for wrestling and combat sports down the years. i never even saw where tickets were made available for these shows (there has been no mention of an arena even). the ill-fated chinese tour had a link where you could buy tickets
Now we know why no ticket info had been released. Always thought it sounded fishy. I mean come on. India? Sounds like a made up country from some LoTR fan fiction.
If just TNA I would say it is TNA. But AAA too who knows. Isn't WWE supposed to go there soon? If they cancel I would say it has ISIS written all over it.
thank you for effing up your company so much that going to an area that isn't essential to them and yet pander to them anyway is considered to be the companies saving grace by those still in denial
POSTPONED not cancelled, better to be safe than sorry. Just think if something happened to the talent that travelled then we would have the 'Fuck TNA for sending their talent over seas when all this terror threats are going on, joke of a company' They'll still be going just not yet. I get that some people are pist off that TNA haven't been able to go to India YET. I think this is the second time its been pushed back but these things happen, lets just have a bit of patients and see what happens.
Sucks most for the wrestlers who kept their schedule clear for the month. Especially with Christmas coming up.
As much as I'd like to laugh at TNA for this, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. They arent the first promotion to run a mile from going on a tour of India. If there is even a slight thing wrong with the organization of the trip, you should pull out of it.
Its being done for safety reasons as its near "troubled" airspace (Russia/Turkey as an example) at the moment to get to India and its too risky, according to Dave Meltzer.
If that whole safety issue is true, I guess I understand but still, if I were Dixie I'd find a way to pay the talent to make up for those missed dates, you don't leave talent hanging when it comes to paychecks, especially around Christmas time.
As noted, TNA has postponed their tour of India until 2016 some time. An official announcement will likely be issued on Thursday but the dates have been removed from their website.
TNA talents informed via e-mail this evening that the tour was postponed due to logistical issues, specifically the safety of flying abroad. The crew was scheduled to leave the United States this weekend fly to Paris, France, and then fly to India.
There are a lot of unhappy TNA talents right now, according to PWInsider, as it has already been a tough year in terms of getting steady work from TNA.
Regarding speculation on the tour being postponed due to low ticket sales, that is not the case as TNA TV partner Sony Six was financing everything.
There's no word yet on when the tour will take place but the e-mail to talents stated 2016 some time and didn't give any further details.
Were the dates even on their website? I can not remember. I know they were not listed under TICKETS.
That'd make them look horrible in the public eye, not that it matters at this point, but TNA will never just flat out admit shit like low ticket sells, I'm rather surprised Dixie even bothered confirming DA had an out clause.
