Jesus Christ. I have been defending TNA since 2006 when I started watching. Thus just fucked over anybody who actually paid for BFG. I hate to be that guy,I've defended TNA A LOT over the years. But yesterday I found myself LOLING at the MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT like many others. And today. This garbage. I guess I have become that guy. TNA is dead. There isn't much left they can do to salvage their tarnished reputation.
You are right. I've been an ardent defender of TNA and tried to keep a positive attitude, but this is just sub par at best. That "lol tna" seems apropos right now.
So sunday was just a "feel good moment" for Matt Hardy, This is why I hate feel good moments look like EC3 was going to keep his belt then they when with the "feel good moment"
TNA always does that, they make you feel like you wasted your time watching their ppvs, cause they only care about their tv show. Half the time they'll have a payoff to a storyline happen on Impact and just use the ppv to further the story along, saving the big moments for Impact.
I will say i didn't like the idea of Matt Hardy as champion i thought Drew was the one who should have won it, cause Matt is a worn out has been who can barely move anymore and really doesn't look like a world champion. But this is possibly the stupidest thing i've seen a wrestling company do, their biggest show of the year, they have a huge moment with Matt and his family after he finally won a world title then the next day they just erase all that and have him vacant the belt.
Yeah i didn't want Matt as champ but i can't condone this at all, TNA is a fucking joke its obvious they have no idea how to run a company there. How this company is still around amazes me, this has to be the slowest death of a company in history, it feels like its been dying for nearly a decade.
So what's happened here people let us reflect:-
- They have maintained EC3's winning streak as he was never pinned
- They crowned a new champion in Matt Hardy. New champion = buzz.. great moment for the fans
- Jericho even re-tweeted this and hash tagged impact wrestling to his 2.2 million viewers
- Now everybody is going to wonder who the new champion will be and some will tune in to watch just to see the aftermath. Will it be Drew? Maybe Jeff setting up Jeff vs Matt? Give it back to EC3? Angle??
So they had a title change at their biggest show of the year and then removed the title a couple of days later therefore making the PPV main event worthless?
How anyone can defend this is beyond me, especially if this was the plan months in advance, WHY book Matt to win at BFG in the first place? I hardly catch up with TNA at all and I was contemplating watching parts of BFG, but this news has rendered that pointless.
Vacating titles? Who do they think they are? WWE? Seriously though, I'm guessing this is fuel being added to the fire for when Jeff ends EC3's winning streak and avenges his brother.
It's idiotic. I cant even say, 'well, lets see how it plays out'. How many people do they think are even paying that close of attention to their product, to pull these kinds of angles? they are trying to pull in as many new viewers as possible, and just alienated any casual who bought BFG. Anyone who just decided to give BFG a chance, and isn't a hardcore TNA watcher, is not going to have the energy to follow this nonsense.
Book sensible, easy to follow angles, and try to build. Save the silly injunction stuff for when there are more people who will care
So Josh Matthews saying EC3's streak is over at the end of BFG, despite not being pinned, better be played up on TV as an error to fuel this some more so EC3 can just get pinned on a random edition of Impact b/c fuck PPV culmination, amirite?
The one title change on the show And they've done this.
Fuck this company
