Dude is great in the ring and had a cool gimmick, and i kept saying for the longest time they should bring him back. They finally do bring him back and they put him on commentary? Why? Is he injured or just can't wrestle anymore for some reason? Or is this TNA being dumb fucks as usual and misusing talent?
I, like you, would prefer to see him in ring, but TNA has other plans for him. We'll see if they change their course with him. Lord knows, I wouldnt mind seeing him used in a wrestling capacity.
I'm glad someone else asked this. I was curious myself. I always felt he had the potential to be one of the top guys in the spot but TNA never used him right.
He's not that great on commentary he fumbles pretty often and goes on rambles that sometimes makes no sense. Plus his constant use of the word Daddy gets annoying "Hey daddy listen here, ya know daddy, well look here daddy" I'd seriously like a counter up in the corner of my tv counting how many times he says daddy in one episode.
This...SO MUCH THIS.
Perhaps he never had a father and is expressing his need for a father figure by putting emphasis on his exuberant and border-line excessive use of the word "daddy".
Well, that or he just really likes the word daddy.
He's a decent commentator, he was ok in the ring but said to be a bit sloppy and a lot of talent didn't like working with him. If he's injured as well then chances are both he and TNA have rightly realised his strength is his verbal skills and his charisma so the announce booth is a good fit for him.
Pretty sure he is hurting. At the recent taping I noticed one time he was on the fan side of the railing. Instead of just hoping over it he got not one but TWO chairs to help himself over. He put one on each side and stepped from one to the other. That said to me he has some issue, back pain seems likely especially after reading the other post, and was taking it as easy as he can.
Oh and for those that are driven crazy with all the "daddy" that he drops I suggest just turning it into a drinking game. It will not stop him but after awhile you won't care. Hell you might even look forward to it
He's doing great for a guy who literally just started this a month ago with no prior experience or training in commentating, and he's already way better than Taz. Matthews/Pope is the best announce team since Tenay/West.
He is pretty bad on commentary so they should just fire him.
