“To update all of you that have asked and commented about my neck: The tumor is benign and my surgery is next week. I will be out of action for about a month and I’ll be coming back better than ever! Thank you all for your incredible support. Your comments have kept my spirits high throughout this trying time. Much Love, Kurt.”
The next set of TV tapings are said to be all that TNA has scheduled for the remainder of the year, which lead up to the end of September (DA's cancellation date), so in a realistic way EC3 may be Angle's last TNA opponent, if that's the case then putting him over isn't a bad way to go out.
I read that TNA are going to be taping up to November/December time so I'd take their pitch to all the Networks, assuming they do get kicked off DA will be "Hey, we got all this programming ready to go, give us a shot!"
Anyways on topic, If it is the case that Angle's last match in TNA was putting EC3 over, I'm completely fine with it.
Yeah, if DA kicks them off, they still have to tape TV in order to commit to their international deals, so Impact could be an overseas exclusive for quite awhile.
Please just retire Angle. While he can still put on good matches, he looks terrible. Like he could die any minute. Jobbed to EC3, there is nothing left for him to do. You won't wrestle in the WWE. Call it day. Get your WWE hall of fame and ride of to the sunset as a WWE and TNA legend.
Back in 2005, people were saying that Angle wouldn't live another 10 years.
Kurt's the kind of a guy who doesn't know any other way than to compete at the highest possible level that he can. It's what has brought him an Olympic gold medal and numerous wrestling championships.
The fans just have to come to terms with the fact that he's going to go out with his boots on, and there's nothing anybody can do about it. If you take wrestling away from him, he has nothing left.
EC3 and Angle had a very private discussion after their match according to the champ himself, but refuses to reveal what was said and prefers to keep it to himself. I wonder if it was Angle passing the torch.
He's said he'd like Bryan to be his last opponent. Considering Daniel's health and him hoping to/hypothetically returning, I think it'd be very fitting for a world title loss to be his final TNA match and then a match vs. Bryan at Wrestlemania 32 to be his career final.
That would be f*cking great, but Vince probably wouldn't want him back in the ring.

No way that was his last match in TNA.
It may have been if the tumor had not tested benign, but thankfully that seems to be ok. Kurt is required to wrestle in a minimum of 30 matches before his current contract expires in january 2016. By my best accounting, he still has 6 more matches left to fulfill his contractual agreement. He will return and he will be the one who ends EC3's undefeated streak to reclaim the WHC just before he officially retires in 2016.
Fuck that so much! Kurt defeating the top rising star and then retiring would be bullshit on so many levels. I want Robbie E to beat EC3. One of the most underrated workers. But Kurt? Na.
Angle is going to die eventually at this rate if he keeps doing all these spots and working lengthy matches. As much as the Moonsault off the top of the cage is pretty awesome, he isn't going to be in the ring much longer by doing that. (I'm referring the Lockdown matches, I don't know if he did do that move in the match against EC3, I haven't seen it yet.)
