As I've previously said, TNA has run angles based on their guys picking up a PWI award. if your going to do that to lend your guys credibility you also have to accept your credibility is knocked when they shun your title.
He is right though. PWI are not legit journalists. They are very biased, writing stories that make their friends look good, and make people they dislike look bad.
They say tna is not a world title, when it still meets all the requirements PWI claims they use for world titles. So, that is proof that it's personal issues with TNA that were behind it and nothing else.
as for ec3 i think his title win as actually a big deal. he may be a champion of a sinking ship but i loved Scott Steiner's WCW Title run. tbh hes kind of a guy tna has made a star. he was in wwe for years but hes not like mr. anderson or mvp now wrestling in tna. he reinvented himself, grabbed the ball and has ran with it. i know people could say hes the worlds tallest midget in tna but not really since tna has never had an issue with talent
PWI don't have the right to classify what a real championship is, like it or not some of the biggest names in the industry have held the TNA World title.
I don't see what the big deal is. A World title is just a promotion's top championship (most of the time). I can't stand wrestling fans who add different "world" titles together to make up some ridiculous tally of "world" title reigns, especially if they use the old defended in multiple countries argument which is so fucking stupid.
EC3 is a World Champion. Why? Because TNA fucking calls it a World title, and any promotion can do that whether its WWE, WCW or some fucking no name indy promotion that nobody has ever heard of.

I like how the same people who loved PWI when they named AJ Styles their number 1 in the PWI 500 say PWI is biased, same old shit.
Edit: Also a heads up, AJ was in the top 10 in 05, Angle was 2 and Jarrett was 10 in 06, Angle was 4 and Christian was 7 in 07, Angle was 2 and Joe was 4 in 08, Sting was 9 in 09, Anderson 7 in 2011, Roode was 2 behind CM fucking Punk in 2012 along with Angle as number 8, Bully Ray was number 4 and Jeff Hardy was number 7 in 2013, and Magnus was number 7 with Bully as number 10 last year, but they're totally biased.
If wrestling was a legitimate sport, then there may be some merit to saying "Only the biggest organisation's belt counts as a genuine world title."
But it's wrestling. It's a prop used within an entertainment organisation to further storylines. The ICW belt or PWG belt is no less a world title than the WWE belt. If it's described as being the top award within a promotion, then it is.
Uhm...how is it not a world championship? Its a title that has been defended around the world and TNA, despite all its problems, is still one of the biggest pro-wrestling promotions in the world.
What were the reasons given by PWI for why they don't classify it as a world championship anymore?
Bullshit. Who cares what they think...there's obviously some crooked stuff going on there.
I will never be sold on EC3 or Magnus. I believe making them champions is a huge reason why TNA is going out of business soon. I can forgive James Storm because he was with them for so long and can talk, but EC3 sucks. Magnus just wasn't ready and I'm not sure he will ever be, but he's semi decent. If TNA made Christopher Daniels champion instead, they would have a better chance of staying in business.
