Flair was on the Wrestlemania panel on the wwe network live special tonight. Cole was talking about how Triple H's part time schedule might effect him in the ring. Then Cole turns to Flair and said (paraphrasing) the same goes for sting. He hadn't wrestled in I don't know how long. Flair than said to Cole that wasn't true and went on to say Sting has wrestled weekly the last 10 years. Flair turned to Booker and said you know you were down there. Cole quickly ended the segment.
Ric Flair needs to come back to TNA, i miss his unscripted interviewers.
I can see why WWE refuses to acknowledge his TNA history. That would be marketing the competition/giving them free pub by acknowledging it.
But at the same time they should stop harping on this 14 year old disappearance. They should make it simple: Sting, WCW's most lethal threat to the most dangerous group of all time, the nWo is here to rage war against a corrupt Authority. HOW HARD IS IT!
if they weren't so damn insistent on making things "reality" they could get away with saying sting just disappeared for 14 years
but noooooooooooooooooo, kayfabe has to be dead 98% of the time anymore so they have to deny "reality" in sting's case while promoting "reality" overall. more of the same schizo dumbassery from wwe.
I don't see what the uproar is. Flair was not talking about TNA. He was referring to WCW. It is still 2002 to him. Flair's got that old timers disease, poor old guy.
So, I went and found it on the Network. Nowhere near as bad as it was made out to be, Cole barely blinked and the segment went on for a couple more minutes.
Flair continues to be controversial on these Wrestlemania panels. Last year, it was telling Foley he overstayed his welcome, now it's mentioning Sting and Booker's time in TNA. Wonder what he'll say next year if they even have him on their panel, maybe mention Chris Benoit.
I thought they said "Sting never came to WWE". As in, he did come to other places.
They also acknowledged TNA before. A few years back when Cena was feuding with Vince, he basically said to Vince that he'll go to TNA if Vince fires him.
The only reason I wanted to see Sting in WWE is so I could see him come out to his epic Crow theme. But that isn't happening. His WWE theme is pretty weak.
I wonder which innocent party will be fired this time :hmm:
