He's 46 years old (holy shit) and his body is breaking down after so many major injuries he's bound to get a little pudgy.
Crazy to think he's been out of the WWE for 8 years now and is unlikely to ever get a proper WWE retirement run due to him being so physically run down.
After the number of injuries he's had, he's certain to have not been pushing himself in the gym as hard as he used to these days. Can't say I blame him. I still think he looks fantastic for his age and he definitely does not look his age, though it's quickly catching up to him.
Age & Metabolism slowing down.
Knee injuries - making him immobile and preventing him from doing cardio. The Surgery put him in a wheel chair while he was rehabing the knee.
Lack of roids probably prevents him from working out as much.
Poor eating habits
Change in workout routine. I know he stopped lifting heavyweights and got on a heavy Weight-Band kick
I read somewhere that he had nerve damage which prevented him from working out his arms properly (don't know if that's true, but it would explain why even when he was in good shape his arms were a lot smaller and out of proportion with the rest of his body). Also, wouldn't be surprising bearing in mind the trauma he's put his body, and especially his neck, through over the years.
Throw in injuries, so not working or working out, his possible pill and booze intake, roids and/or lack of them etc, and there you go. If anything though, I think he's looking a lot healthier than he has done. There was a time around a year ago when despite being in decent shape he started looking bright purple. That was worrying.
Im not sure exactly how these photos are drastically different to anyone? Looks suddle and the natural steps of getting old.46 and still lools better tthen many.
Kurt should have took a decent break to rehab his injuries before joining TNA imo, would have probably added longer to his career and he wouldn't be the broken mess he often appears now. I'm not slating Angle, he was and to some extent still is an amazing talent, but it's sad that he's messed himself up the way he has with injuries and other factors.
Yeah, I watched James Storm vs Kurt Angle in the World Title match because I was interested in the #4 moment in TNA history and Kurt looked way different than what I was used to. But he was 41 at that time and if I remember correct was dealing with some alcohol/drug issues. He still looks great compared to the average person though, just not other wrestlers who are sometimes 10-15 years younger than him.
