Good for him lol

WrestlingObserver:

During a recent appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, AJ Styles stated that he’s already made more money this year working the independent scene and with NJPW than he would have for the entire year of 2014 under the new deal TNA offered him.

TNA reportedly offered Styles a deal that could have earned him upwards of $200,000.

Styles also noted that by the end of the year, he could do as well as he did in 2013 with TNA, Styles reportedly made $350,000 that year.

Since Styles is now working the independent scene and NJPW, they pay for his hotel rooms and travel expenses.

He is also able to control his merchandise sales. TNA did not cover road expenses, and would have only gotten a percentage of merchandise sales.

In terms of the NJPW being #2, untill they have national TV deals in the US, UK, Ireland and Canada, I don't think TNA has to give a rats ass about them. They aren't competition. New Japan are mainly based in... er Japan, so they are two different companies in that respect.(I do love some of the matches in NJPW, but lets be real here)

Also, as much as I love AJ and Bad Influence, the recent NYC shows have been good. I haven't watched a TNA show since Slammi and gone "do you know what, I really miss Styles".

The only way AJ returns to TNA is if the Carter's sell and Dixie is NO WHERE to be seen ever again. Good for him making what he deserves.

I think WWE should take a shot at him. He's better then the majority of the guys on that roster.

The people saying that the well will dry up for AJ are really wrong.

Did you know Zach Gowen who was in WWE for under a year still works every weekend for the indies for like 200-300 a pop? And he's most famous for being thrown down some stairs by Brock Lesnar...

The IWGP, NWA and TNA World Champion with 10+ years of television exposure will be making decent money and getting regular dates even into his 50's and 60's if he wants them.

AJ left TNA to try and prove not only to himself, but the world, that he could make more money elsewhere in the wrestling bizz.
Him publicly declaring he has achieved this says nothing. I mean, why is AJ Styles word the absolute gospel?
If I was AJ, and I wanted to get back into TNA, I'd say I was making more than I actually was, simply to get a pay rise or hope to get a better deal if I returned.
if I was AJ, and I didn't want to get back into TNA, I'd say I was making more than I actually was, simply to prove to everyone out there that I didn't make a mistake by leaving the company that me.
I cannot believe that nobody is questioning AJ might not be telling the truth.

I think most people who don't think Aj Styles will ever come back to tna are probably the same people who thought Lebron could never come back to Clevland and he did AFTER THE FANS BURNED HIS JERSEYS, that bruno would never come back to wwe, . I think that people's hatered of tna is so bad that we want to pretty much bash fans and accuse them of turning on aj just because speical FNK did, when it looks like he was not even much of a fan to begin with. If tna stays in business Aj could come back one day, maybe not, but I don't think Aj hates dixie that much to not return to what he is known for tna wrestling.

I also think that aj LOVES most of the tna fans, and I think he might return for some appreances down the line for the fans, I don't think it is going to be full time, but more or less a stop by to say a proper goodbye. There have been organizations that have treated people worse(the cavs and lebron), Aj was not treated THAT BADLY, while he was lowballed, aj is not going to get THAT MAD over money where he will hold a life long grudge against tna, he is one of those who will bury the hachet with tna one day. He is not that petty of a guy. Now if tna dies, or tna cannot afford Aj full time but only wants him full time, then he probably won't return, but I see no reason Aj can't make a stop by tna after his new japan contract expires and he might return for a bit before going back to New japan/ROH. Now if he gets involved with Jarret but I see him as a new Japan guy mostly, and if New Japan is that bothered by aj showing up to tna ONE OR TWO TIMES in between runs, they need to realize that he has a TON OF FANS in tna still who love aj, I don't think it will be bad.

Just saw that G1 Climax match between AJ and Okada on dailymotion. What the fuck is up with AJ no selling the Piledriver? He got up like nothing happened. Maybe I'm just not used to these kind of no selling in jap matches but I simply couldn't get into the finish after that point. Ruined it for me. Still a fun match, not sure about AJ being better than Bryan or Seth. Seems like overrating his abilities.

Yeah dude, we all have the same gripe with that spot. The only thing I could guess is that he got up because it lead straight to the finishing sequence, but still...WTF? And Japanese matches usually have more selling than WWE/TNA considering it's almost non-existent in US wrestling.
