We got to talk about the gimmick matches...

It has now been a month since TNA Impact went gimmick match free on Impact. Not since the shows in England have TNA gone away from the gimmick matches and occasionally on Impact you can see 2-3 in one night (Tonight it was three)

What is the reasoning behind this? These matches are now boring to me and I'm sure they're boring to most of you as well. It hurts TNA's Pay Per View business because the gimmick matches are supposed to be something fresh for PPV but they aren't because TNA does them every single week without fail.

What is the deal? Is anyone else getting tired of all these gimmicks? I'm okay with a Street Fight for free on TV every month or two but two hardcore matches and a table match all in one night is a little too much.

Thoughts?

Re: We got to talk about the gimmick matches...

I caught myself watching the clock several times tonight. When almost every match had a gimmick or a messy ending then it becomes dull, the exact opposite of what they're doubtlessly aiming for. It needs to stop.

But hey, I still got my weekly dose of Willow and Spud (and that EC3 guy who tags around with the man, Spud).

Every crowd should chant for Spud.

Re: We got to talk about the gimmick matches...

The women's hardcore match was a bit pointless.

I don't think it hurts TNA's PPV business though because TNA probably has no PPV business. If they want people to take note of their wrestling company, they need to make the TV shows interesting.

They just need to follow a rule of booking 1 or 2 gimmick matches at maximum, otherwise there is going to be nothing special about them.

Cause they lack imagination and cannot properly build heat in a regular match.

Tonight it should have only been Abyss vs EY in their hardcore match.

They definitely didn't need that tables match. Do they really need to put someone through a table every single week? We get it, they're having a tables match.

It's Russo's booking at its finest. No build up, no reason to have them, nothing. Just throwing them out there and making them meaningless.

Same way with these multiple World Title matches, that's The Third in the past four weeks they've had. Why should I shell out forty or more bucks for a PPV to see it when odds are their going to put one on TV?
