Re: Backstage News On Bad Morale In TNA, Fear Of Losing Spike TV & More
Locker room low morale reports... that time of the year.
The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.
Best case scenario-- WWE moves to AMC (or is bought by AMC), TNA keeps their Thursday night spot on Spike, and USA brings in TNA to fill their Monday night slot.
usa isn't happening in a million years. smackdown isn't on usa and that averages about 2.5-3 times what impact averages a week. if usa loses raw they will air re-runs of ncis their top rated show after raw. the only reason raw is on usa is because its viewership makes the network number 1 and without it they drop to 4th or 5th some weeks.
even if by some miracle they ended up on usa that network averages about 2-2.5 million in prime time (spike averages about 900k-1 million) so doing under or just above the prime time average is a means of cancellation...just ask tough enough which averaged 2.5 million viewers in 2011 and got dropped after one season.
wrestlezone reported yesterday that jarretts new promotion are a possibility on spike
According to a source close to Jeff Jarrett, WrestleZone can confirm his new project will indeed be the launch of a new wrestling promotion.
We were told the promotion is likely to launch on TV sometime in January 2015, and there are several possibilities as to which network will carry the company.
As of now, SpikeTV, CMT and TBS are leading candidates, as TBS is looking to get back into the wrestling business, and Jarrett has CMT connections.
SpikeTV seems to be the long shot in the group, as Jarrett's promotion would only air on Spike if TNA is gone by January.
