TNA Officials Concerned About Their Future With Spike TV & WWE Possibly Replacing TNA

Quote:
There are people within TNA that are worried about the potential of WWE moving to Spike TV and other Viacom networks if they don’t lock in a new deal with Comcast. The feeling is that the sooner TNA locks a new contract in with Spike, the better off they will be. TNA pretty much depends on their TV deal to keep things going.

When TNA signed their last deal with Spike, the goal between the two companies was to grow Impact Wrestling’s weekly audience to 2 million viewers and obviously that has not happened. TNA’s viewership is down compared to when they locked in that deal.

TNA’s current deal with Spike runs through Fall 2014 but they usually start negotiations about six month before.

I partially hope WWE goes back to Viacom networks just to see what they do with TNA.

Well they should be worried but again I still believe that when everything's said and done, TNA will stay on Spike.

Even if that happened, there must be another channel who would be happy to have TNA, they just can't dissapear like that, it would be a humiliation

If that does happen if deal is done with Spike will WWE do the crossover people wanted just to see TNA get flatted.

If so New Jack prediction is becoming more true.

Re: TNA Officials Concerned About Their Future With Spike TV & WWE Possibly Replacing

Offcourse they are worried, if they loose their TV deal its basicly game over. They are completely dependant on their TV deal, their attendance and PPV buyrates dont bring in enough money. But there is a realistic chance that both WWE and SpikeTV are just playing games. WWE is negotiating with Spike to pressure NBC to offer a better deal, and SpikeTV is talking with WWE maybe to get a better deal with TNA (for which negotiations will start in the very near future).
In the end i dont think WWE will go back to Spike. But until then TNA -should- be worried, and maybe even start actively looking for an alternative.

Who's going to bother taking a chance on them though? MTV2? We all saw what they did with WSX and LLUSA. Aired them for a few weeks and decided it wasn't worth it cause the ratings stayed the same and axed them.

I'm almost expecting Tenay to tell JB it's been a honor and for them to pick up instruments and start playing nearer my god to thee.
