WWE is negotiating with Spike to pressure NBC to offer a better deal, and SpikeTV is talking with WWE maybe to get a better deal with TNA (for which negotiations will start in the very near future).
In the end i dont think WWE will go back to Spike. But until then TNA -should- be worried, and maybe even start actively looking for an alternative.
If I were Vince I would have started the Viacom rumors myself. He knows that Universal will want a package deal for the WWE umbrella, and having a major player like Viacom's name linked helps WWE's leverage.
I don't think TNA is leaving Spike, but all the leverage is with Viacom. TNA will be lucky to get renewed at the same money they get now. I don't see any other network putting up the type of money Viacom can to get what TNA has to offer. They can just get the JJ and Keith investors to fund a new startup. Keith could get them on CMT with a phone call, they have hours of time to fill.

If WWE ends up with a full grip on televised wrestling, this industry is fucked. TNA needs to get their shit together.

She's too busy attending Tennesee Vols games and counting on mommy and daddy to bail her out.

Yea Spike love the lowblows. Under a different pseudonym, they pretty much screwed ECW. TNA should always have contingencies, but this is TNA so..

Mayorga on facing Vargas: I'm going to give Vargas the chance to cash his last paycheck. I would like to say publicly that Fatty Vargas has always feared me. I conceded to take this fight at 162 pounds because fatty couldn't lose any more weight. I will do Vargas a favor by retiring him in this fight so his family doesn't have to suffer every time he steps in the ring. I'm going to do his wife a favor and not let her cry anymore.

I'm a little skeptical, only because ever since AJ and JJ left, all these threads have been popping up. It surely is possible, but only time will tell. Regardless of whether it's true or not, TNA needs a huge revamp. More than just a logo change, they need an all new brand/ad campaign.

I think TNA has a chance to stay alive without Spike. I think they still can be somewhat valuable to a network (specifically one that loses out on getting WWE). I mean they do offer you 2 hours of fresh content every week. They also have a solid, if not huge fan base. I'm not sure what their ratings are like but I thought I read that they were around 800,000-900,000. Not a huge amount of people but being able to get those kind of viewers every week I think is enough to make a network take a shot on them.

These threads were popping up before AJ and JJ left.

So long as The Carters are around though, you can expect more of the same.
