TNA Wrestling Signs Multi-Year Television Deal In Japan As International Growth Continues

TNA IMPACT WRESTLING has continued its recent global expansion by signing a new multi-year agreement with Nippon Television Network Corporation (NTV) in Japan.

TNA Executive Vice President, Andy Barton, said: “TNA IMPACT WRESTLING has enjoyed phenomenal success during our first year of broadcast on Japanese television and we are very excited about this new multiple-year commitment with Nippon Television’s G+.

“It’s another example of the success we are enjoying around the world, which also includes new deals in France and Portugal and a very successful launch on Sony SIX in India.”

That's the 4th or 5th deal in different countries in the past 3 months, no? I count Germany, England(renewed), Japan, Australia, and what was the other... Holland? Singapore?

Interesting how the Vice President call it "TNA Impact Wrestling" instead of "TNA" or "Impact Wrestling" as if the company has chosen to go by that as a brand. Maybe they should go by "Total Impact Wrestling".

Re: TNA Announces Multi-Year Extension Of Major International Television Deal

With such a wide reach internationally, I hope TNA revisits the idea of the World X Cup, or at least some other international-themed event similar to it. I love watching different talents come in to compete in TNA.

My 2013 Wish List:

[X] Angelina Love returns, TBP reunite
[X] Chris Sabin returns
[ ] Christopher Daniels wins the World Title
[X] Low-Ki returns
[ ] TNA comes to Hawaii

They now have a shit ton of TNA footage with Hogan's face in it, which they can use any way they want. No reason to employ Hogan now.

Re: TNA Announces Multi-Year Extension Of Major International Television Deal

Nice to see. I feel TNA's best way to compete against the WWE is to build it's presence outside of the US, get revenue and subsequently profits from those areas, then to use those revenues and profits wisely on improved production/advertising/creative directions.

TNA shouldn't feel the need to exist solely to compete against the WWE, though.

The rumors of TNA's demise were greatly exaggerated.
