Re: Good laptops for under £400

I have an Acer. Never had an issue with it

Anyway I know places like PCWorld have a couple of HP Laptop's going for under 400. Hardly ever hear anything bad about them tbh.

People who base their ratings of products based around their less-than-acceptable interaction with the brand at work make me scratch my head.

It's a work machine, it's going to be fucking shit from people using and abusing the hell out of them.

Acer makes good laptops. Lenovo makes good laptops for reasonable prices.

Honestly, this all depends on what you want to DO with the laptop, OP. Can you provide us a list of what you intend on doing with the laptop?

I saw this while browsing Newegg a few days back, not sure if it's available in the UK though.

Do you have a preference on brand? And I'm assuming it's got to be from a company/site that can ship to the UK without massive duty/taxes on international shipping, right?

No any brand is fine and yes i am uk based so any big duty tax would like to be avoided.

Bought my Sony Vaio for 499 euro which is 434 British pounds. I highly recommend it though.

Re: Good laptops for under £400

my main problem with helping UK users look for PCs is im not sure who does and doesnt ship to the UK =/

I'd say ebay or amazon would be my best bet, but I'm not entirely sure.
