I'm thinking about saving up money for this 80 inch Sharp TV. It's the largest TV I see in Best Buy stores.

My question... do you think it's worth it? Just imagine watching movies, playing Xbox 360 (Battlefield 3, Left 4 Dead, etc) on that 80 incher.

Is there a better TV? Your opinions.

Would it scale well with the resolution though?

edit: whoops, I thought that was the new 4k resolution TV. My bad.

Sometimes I plug my PC in my 55' Samsung TV, and all I can say is that it looks tremendous, so I'm going to have to guess that the gaming on the 80 inch TV is gonna look and feel even better.

Seems decent enough. Decent brand. Good refresh rate. 4 hdmi inputs. yadda yadda. Only issue there is the sound. But if you have a home thetre or stereo to plug into it it's a non issue.

Oh and I'm assuming you have the room for such a large tv. You'll need to be sitting a decent way back from it in order to view it without craning your neck.

For games I would try and go for a higher refresh rate.

And I promise you. Go for plasma of you watch movies a lot. LCD pic quality doesn't compare.

Not to mention a set of that size will never have a crisp image even at 1080 cause weather its a 40" or an 80" its all 1920x1080 just bigger pixels showing more imperfections.

It looks good and it also depends on the size of the room as well. If your to close to it you will notice pixels a lot easier which is not a good thing. As others have said I would get a decent sound system. I recently purchased a Sony Htss380 which has 3HDMI inputs and 1 output meaning True HD and HD Master 5.1 on Blu-Rays.
