Re: Windows 7 vs. Windows 8

Windows 7 is pretty good, I haven't tried Windows 8 but since it's newer I'd pick that.

If it's not a touchscreen, then definitely Windows 7.

I accept rep.

Re: Windows 7 vs. Windows 8

Well get windows 8, there is an option in the system for you to convert back to Windows 7 anyways... Thats what I see when I look at the models at Futureshop :P

EDIT: When I mean convert back to Windows 7, I mean the desktop appearance.

Re: Windows 7 vs. Windows 8

Windows 8 is fine, it tends to be those who haven't actually used it and are misinformed that hate on it, and this whole "it's designed purely for touch screen" stuff is an absolute pile of crap. It's the future, so get over it, deal with it and move with the times.

Thanks gus, I think I will go with 8. If I don't like it, I can always downgrade to 7.

Re: Windows 7 vs. Windows 8

I'm not sure if it's just me being out of my comfort zone but I just can't get used to 8. Sucks cause they'll probably continue with this platform down the line.

Whoever said "it's not made for touch screens!!!!!!!!" should probably read Microsoft's OWN WORDS.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/blame-...120533042.html

They're blaming PC manufacturers for not offering more tablet options to showcase the touch screen features of their new OS.

Which is funny because this isn't the manufacturers faults...at all

Re: Windows 7 vs. Windows 8

Having used both OS for a good period of time Windows 8 and Windows 7 are pretty good this is what I noticed:

Windows 8
pros: faster, redesign interface, touch screen capability.

cons: unstable compared to Windows 7

Windows 7: stable
cons: not as smooth as Windows 8

Bottom line to me is if you don't use touch screens there is no point for Windows 8 atleast to me I loved it, was nice, but went back to Windows 7. I liked Windows 7 and there is no reason for me to use Windows 8. Unless you can get Windows 8 very cheap and want to stay up to date Windows 8 is the way if not Windows 7 is fine no real reason to upgrade as I mentioned.

Re: Windows 7 vs. Windows 8

We bought a PC with Windows 8, about three months ago, it was released in October 2012.

So far... I have nothing but good things to say about Windows 8. It has a store app on the main screen... where you can download a lot of free aps, ranging from news, entertainment, etc. You can easily move the newly installed apps around on the main screen.

Also, there's a desktop app to click on, which takes you to your icons and wallpaper, just like Windows 7 and XP that you're already used to.

All in all, Windows 8 is great. I wouldn't want to go back to XP or Windows 7.

Here is a great video of Windows 8:
