Gigaware Wired Optical Mouse screwed up.
 

I have had one of these:



for several months. Up until last week, it worked fine, but now it connects and disconnects randomly and the sound is annoying the piss out of me. I tried just about everything else in my house that had a USB and those worked. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this before I buy another mouse?

Had many a wired mouse do this exact thing. The wire either has a loose connection (have fun finding out where) or there's a short in the wire. Time to search for a new mouse imo

I'd suggest a wired logitech mouse if you need a replacement...they're really reliable, and most of them offer just enough utility buttons to not be overwhelming.

I might go with a wireless so I'm less likely to yank it around too roughly by accident and screw something up. Thanks for the suggestion, I might go with a logitech. Also going to try to stay away from radioshack lol.

You should go for the logitech wireless mouses and keyboard combos. Currently I use



Good stuff, I have been using it for about 7 years and it still works like new. Although most if not all wireless stuff require batteries.

I have the same issue with one of my microsoft intellimouse. Since I use it for a little use system it works alright for that. If your going to be doing gaming, I'd stick with the wired mouse. Wireless on the other hand is good for everything else.
