Avg antivirus is the best for the every computer and operating system but specially for the windows XP and windows 7 but this antivirus comntaines some heavy data and make slow to your computer so i think Avas antivirus is the best than AVG but the both are best you can install any one from both...

Norton360 is great from my experiences. I'm not using it right now since I don't want to pay for a subscription, so I'm just using a McAffe free trial. Not bad either.

(Finding Unlocker a bit later helped considerably by reducing the number of restarts.)

I don't think that solely going by "trust" teaches you much. My diagnosing skills came from risks. It's strange to not have to take them anymore with the comfort that your AV will actually find and kill it before it buries itself too deep for AV's growing immensly during 2003-2005 AV like Avast or ZoneAlarm to find. What you've described doesn't sound like a problem anymore than a configuration issue.
It's a problem because that large piece of code is always sitting there, doing very little. Considering just how rapidly viruses, malware, trojans and exploits are disseminated and sold, I find it pointless to have the protection. Even experts echo that only like 30% of all threats will be taken care of via a/v software. I'd rather learn the underlying causes of infection and exploitation to greatly minimize the odds of an issue. I'm not going to say my pc is impenetrable because that would just be naive. But I'd also be very surprised If I were infected/exploited.

AV are like banks and internet browsers there are billions who have problems with one of them )take your pick) but nebver another, while its the opposite for someone else

In sort, the guys who said they had all these problems and never detectign anything? there are a million more where it catchs more then any other program paid for.

AVG is definitely the way to go since it actually gets rid of viruses rather then just detecting them.

I have had AVG for about 7 years and never got a virus yet, plus you get free updates all the time. My new laptop has Norton for XX amount of days free. I might pay for it because it seems good so far and I don't know if AVG is compatible with Win 8, anyone know?
