I would assume they refurbish and sell each iPad on that they fix like this, (and the Free one they would give you would possibly be a refurb as well,) so I can understand why they wont give me a free one in replacement for my, albeit slightly, damaged version. I do completely understand. The only thing is I never wanted a free one in the first place, I just wanted them to help me fix the one I have paid my hard earned money for that their software made malfunction.
I would say that it's as if I'm losing out for the fact that I cracked the screen on MY OWN iPad, haha, but the sad truth is that's exactly what's happening.
If I could find a way to get out of the Apple logo/reboot loop without Apple it would be much sweeter than just getting the tablet to work now. It would be a victory against injustice! Haha. I'm just hitting brick walls with everything I attempt to fix it.
did you by any chance try calling Apple support? They are far and away the most incredibly helpful support people around. My brother left his brand new ipad on the top of his car when we were pulling out of a hotel parking lot, and it slid off the top, across the road. He called them up, and asked what it would take to replace it, and after a little bit of talking to, the rep basically said they could have him sign up for the replacement policy for whatever the charge was, then he would wait a couple weeks to call back and get a new one.
I'm sure that if you explain shit to them through their customer service line, you'll have a better go of it. People in the apple stores a pompous cunts.
