Hey, recently i've been deciding whether or not to get a new TV and decided that it's about that time. Only thing is that I am pretty lost when it comes deciding what I want. Anything is a step up from my old TV. It's not that it was horrible, just outdated.

This is what I have been thinking about getting:

Only problem is, I was hoping to purchase a TV that could be placed on a wall. I don't see anything about this having that option. If it does, yay.

Smart TVs really don't seem important to me, so that's not needed. I was wondering about buying a 3DTV, but as of now, I feel like almost nothing has 3D so it would be kind of useless. Opinions?

Which is preferred, plasmas or LED? The room where I set-up all my gaming stuff is in my basement so it's not too bright. One problem I heard is that LED aren't good for wide viewing ranges? I have people over playing a lot so will that be a problem?

every flat panel tv *should* have holes for it to be mounted on a wall or a bracket. It's almost a crime to have it without holes for hanging. My father has the 55 inch version of this TV and he has it wall-mounted.

The Smart TV fad is just that. If you want, hook up a laptop to the TV and you have already made the smart tv obsolete. The remote on that TV doesnt lend itself to being a very useful tool to navigate through the smart TV options either.

Speaking from personal preference, I always prefer LCD/LED.

3D TV's are a waste imo, it's a nice novelty, but it wears out quickly from what friends have told me.

It says that it's ideal for wall mounting but the wall mounting kit is not included. So you'll have to fork out extra if you want that option.

I'll second the motion for led/lcd far superior to plasma in my view. More expensive but you get what you pay for.

I have a tv that does 3d as well. It's a feature that I might bring out once in a while if I have mates over, but it's not something that get's used enough to warrant the price IMO.

It seems to be a solid tv all round though I noticed it only has two hdmi inputs. You mentioned gaming so say for example you wanted to run your pc, 360 and ps3 all at once (assuming you have all three) you would be one short. You can swap the leads, but most tv's like this one would normally have 3-4 inputs.

I really never use a computer on my TV so 2 HDMI ports is fine.

Only problem is I like to play in the dark late night sometimes and play and fall asleep watching a movie or something. Should a LCD still hold up?

Any of you guys know anything about Xbox 360 headsets? I mean headsets that also display in-game sounds.

I keep hearing different opinions on these. My price range is probably anything less than 200$. I'm willing to go a little bit over.

Only thing is that the good sets seem to cost like $300 and I could buy a whole new Xbox for that much.

If you fall asleep with the tv on that's fine. It's only plasmas where that could be a problem with "burning the screen" I often fall asleep with the tv on.

As for your question on headsets I'm not sure as I don't own any and I don't wanna be a "google expert" maybe someone else can field that one.
