okay download this program http://www.youtubedownloaderhd.com/ (don't install the third party shit)
in the drop down box select "flv" tick the box that says "convert flv to AVI" then you should be able to import it to windows movie maker as it recognises AVI files.

There's an alternative way to do it. No matter what browser are you using, you don't need to download anything. http://www.savevid.com . Just copy and paste the video link and download at any quality and format you want.

jdownloader is probably the best one, not just for youtube, but any site. I don't even go on any other sites anymore, I just copy the links and let jdownloader get them.

There is a google Chrome extention that lets you choose which format you want to download. MP3, MP4 plus loads more.
