I will be sending my Toshiba laptop for repair but I wanted to use my Gateway while the Toshiba is gone, the Toshiba charger fits fine in the Gateway and charges fine as well but I'm still afraid it might cause damage, I have read that it's OK as long as some the Voltage and the Wattage are similar, but I couldn't figure it out and I'd rather be safe than sorry, so please let me know guys, BTW I don't have the original Gateway charger and rather than buying a new one I'd rather use the Toshiba if it's OK.

My Toshiba L670 charger output is 19V, (than there is a minus line on top and three --- on the bottom), 3.42 A.

My Gateway charger output is 19V, (the same minus line on top but this one appears to be longer and the same three --- on bottom which also appear to be longer in size), 3.42A, 65W.

A little more info would help, How do you know for sure?

I would say your safe.

Both are the exact same Voltage of 19 and both have the exact same Amperage at 3.42.

Also as long as the actual plug directly going into the laptop is nice and snug as well(not lose or excessive force needed pushing it in) then it sounds like they both have the exact same male/female connection size.

Mmmmm this is not a ig problem to operat your Gateway from your Toshiba's Charger because i think the same same pin is pluged in but you should protect your gateway form the heavy voltage and read out the charger's voltage and your gatewya's voltage for avoid all damages sometime the voltage did not compare and you may face different battery damages with your laptop so you should take care of this option and then operate...

I ended up just buying a new Gateway charger, this thread is a year old lol.
