Not sure if this has been posted yet but if people would like to save installing WINAMP and playing about with codec's (I know I would) then VLC are doing a BETA standalone version that includes all these codec's and more; it works just as fine as this method but like I said a lot more easier and no need to install anything.
I took the liberty of uploading the whole thing to Megaupload. If needs be I should be able to find the Mac version to upload for some people.

Steps: Download, extract and then click on the "VLC" standalone media player.
