Ive just downloaded both VDownloader and BitLord.

Im downloading something on BitLord, its 17.49GB, and its been on 0% for like 10-15mins, is this normal?

And do I need to keep the window in which im dowloading from open?

Cancel the download and start again, this happens to me sometimes.

Well I left it for about an hour, and it was still on 0%

But it'll take a while wont it

17.49GB? Damn that's huge. Unless it's a typo?
You need the file to be seeded by another user. It is explained there about seeds and peers.
If it is not seeded you won't get the file.
